Just wondering if anyone has heard back from UF yet for conditional admission? I emailed asking when we might hear back a couple days ago, but no one has responded yet!

I talked to a lady yesterday and she said we will be hearing back this week! Did you by chance send your transcripts/GRE scores to BOTH the graduate and OT program separately? I had a problem on my graduate application because they hadn't received my transcripts/GRE but the OT department had so I was just wondering if you had sent them separately to both?

No I didn't send them separately, but my grad app online says that my test scores were received so hopefully that's the case!! I'm so glad we'll be hearing back this week! Good luck!! 😀

Ok good I'm glad to hear that🙂 And good luck to you too!

I just received my letter today (happy dance)!!! I can't wait to meet my cohorts!! 🙂 Good luck to all that are waiting.

I got in too and will definitely be attending!! Can't wait for August!

OTislander and rubbersoul, congrats on your acceptances. I am interested in applying for conditional admission for next fall (2013). Do you two mind sharing your stats? When I emailed Dr. Foss, she said the typical stats for conditionally admitted students was a 3.0 overall gpa, a 3.2 prerequisite gpa, and a 1000 on the GRE (or the revised equivalent). Those stats seemed kind of low, but I realize they are trying to get as many as possible to apply to the program. If you choose to share, thanks in advance. Congratulations again.

Thank you! To be honest I was having a really rough time getting into OT schools this time around! I had problems with my OTCAS which I think was one of the reasons I didn't get into the schools I applied to on there! I had pretty much given up and had decided to go again next year and I got into UF!🙂 My stats are fairly average (compared to everyone else on here at least). My GPA is a 3.5 and my pre req GPA was about a 3.3. I got a 159 on the GRE in verbal and math and a 4.5 in writing. You only state 30 hrs on the application but I had about 150 OT and about 300 working with a girl with autism after school. I also come from a very diverse background so I really focused on that in my statement of purpose and was able to do some unique observation hours! I hope that this helps🙂 Good luck!

Looking at the stats other students are putting up, I'm on the average side. I had a chance to speak to Dr. Foss in June and she was kind enough to outline the areas they really look at. UF requires and only look at 30 hours of observation experiences....even out the playing field a bit. Abnormal Psy, Statistics, A&P 1 and 2 are the big classes you have to do you best in. She also stated the letter of intent is a huge factor. They want to know you and your passion for OT. Hopes this helps.
