I'm OOS in California...so unless you're in Alaska or Hawaii, you're probably not further XD You'll probably get it tomorrow.
My friends and I have been wondering how they assigned the interview times as well. Mine is at 1:30 so we shall see if lunch is a good idea. What is everyone planning on doing throughout the day?
Wow what I took out of that post is that Aunt Sonja's is gone! WTH! Oh how times have changed since I was a kid!
well, i guess i will have to stick with a box lunch that blows because i won't have a car and i don't want to walk that far. but i assume since there is only one interview day there will be hundreds of students to socialize with while we eat the lame food lol
bardsle1, call them!! see what the dealio is?!?
Anyone else dislike that silly Walmart question from last year? (I guess you would have to look at interview feedback haha) It's so silly! What does it reveal about the applicants?
I think it can show a lot about how in depth you have really gotten with your vet experience. A kennel worker would have a hard time thinking of anything other than cat litter and food, but a vet assistant would be able to come up with things like glucose monitors, syringes, gauze, tramadol etc. That was my reasoning anyway.
hey-so it looks like they've already changed the schedule...there doesnt seem to be an earlier morning info session-which bums me out cuz i had planned to go to it before my interview at 11:30am, and i wasn't planning on staying afterwards. guh!
I'm guessing there may be more changes, so I'm even going to re-check the day before. pfffff.
BlacKat, I am in the same boat with the excessive amount of time before my interview. Everyone I talk to says going last is a good thing, but hopefully our interviewers are not too tired or fed up by the time they get to us!
Also, I cannot get the lunch form or hotel information to open properly... could it be because I am using a mac? I am new to the mac world and still trying to figure it out. (My friend just gave me her old computer because my pc died the night before I submitted my last veterinary applications!) Thank you!
I can't even get to the interview day website...is anyone else having this problem? I keep trying the one we got in our letter but it says it doesn't exist when I try. Can someone post a working link that I could attempt?

Not any current students, but several veterinarians, one is an Illinois alumni.I'm really hoping that's true since my interview is later in the day!
Did current students tell you that?
I was assuming the interview times were randomly assigned as well. The statements people made about last being a good interview time was not based on any knowledge of the inner-workings of the Illinois admissions system, just a general feeling about interviews and auditions.Aw, you guys are all silly. Pretty sure they randomly assigned the interview times. But, if I want an ego boost I guess I can assume that my own time must be the best![]()

Any current students use a mac laptop? I don't want a tablet and I really want to buy a mac for my next computer.
I use a mac desktop at home and love it, but I think you'll really like having the tablet function in vet school. Histology lab is done all on computer instead of microscopes, and having the tablet allows you to make notes about different cell types right on the slide. It's also useful for highlighting certain things in the power point lectures. The lectures are pretty much structured around the assumption that all the students have tablets to take notes on the slides. I'm sure that if you're absolutely devoted to the idea of having a mac instead, you could make do with it (and probably have a better computer in the long run), but it's my personal opinion that having the tablet makes life easier.
I'm hoping they make the iPad a little more convenient for studying so that I could use it as a tablet to transfer to my home Mac.
Other portable tablets might be compatible with Macs?
Do teachers post or send lectures ahead of time? I would just print the slides and write on the printed copy 🙂 or would that totally not work...
