Just got my acceptance letter via email! Took me by surprise since i'm a general applicant and they told us during the interview that they were going to wait till the interviews were over before sending out acceptances.

Oh my gosh SAME HERE. I'm going to have an awesome weekend.

When did you have your interview?

Same, I was hoping to hear later (mid to late March) so I could wait on some other schools.

Which campus is better- Shady Grove or Baltimore?

Ugh...I can't believe we have to wait until mid-March to find out about acceptances. I've already been accepted to Jefferson but don't want to get to used to the idea of going to school in Philly prematurely.

Maryland is my top choice, I felt great about the interview and I'm SO excited to receive that email! (Hopefully with good news)

It's strange. I thought I'd have to wait until mid-March for acceptances, but I interviewed Feb 9th and just got an acceptance email today (Feb 13th). Maybe you don't have to wait that long either.

Congrats to those of you who got in!

In the meantime... guess it's time for me to wallow in self-pity 🙁.

I also got accepted today too!!!! I thought it was strange also that they sent out acceptances so early but I guess that they wanted to get the best out of the current batch before being weighed down with other interview candidates.

This really makes clear that the interview was such an important part of the whole process. I do not have spectacular specs with a cumulative GPA of a 3.1 and a 79 PCAT but I smashed that interview and now I get a chance to attend my dream school. I just remember back during the group interviews how I schooled everyone when it came to the responses. I am just really glad that I beat that expected incoming GPA of 3.5. I can't help but to stare at the acceptance email and make sure that it isn't some internet scam. Screw TJU for waitlisting me.

to all those that think that they can;t make it in some school because of those pesky PhamCAS stats from the acceptance class of last year don't give up. Smash all your science courses and practice, practice, practice for that interview. ( I spent a whole day)

For all those accepted today, what were your interview dates? I saw a February 6th in there....any other dates?

Could those of you who got an acceptance email post your stats or something?

i received an acceptance email today as well! congrats to everyone else too!

ziptree: i interviewed on 1/30.

frigo: i have a 3.6 GPA (3.5 PharmCAS GPA), 98 PCAT, and a BS degree

Also, is there a facebook group for accepted students yet? lol

Oh I see. Thanks for letting me know. I'll just have to wait till March to hear back then. Congratulations on getting in 😀!

Anyone else going to the Shady Grove campus? I guess now I start the search for a roommate 🙂

My interview was Jan 30. I got accepted without a degree (I dropped the class this semester that I needed to graduate so that I can take Econ [to fulfill UMD prereq], so I can enjoy my summer and not be stuck in school).

Plan on going to Shady Grove, since I live around here and already attend some classes at Shady Grove.

I would attend Shady Grove but I am not a fan of distance learning and prefer to be where more the of resources are.

I have a 3.6 gpa, 91 composite pcats, and both a bachelors and a masters. I will be turning down my offer since I just found out that I got into UB as well, which is my top choice. One extra open spot for you guys. Good luck.

What is UB? I am not familiar with that school.

Can someone put me in touch with some Canadians currently attending UMB PharmD?

I am so excited to start school; I cannot wait until August. I am just finishing up classes with physics 2 and public speaking...I just am soo bored. congrats guys!!!

Yeah I received my acceptance letter on 2/13 too and I interviewed feb 9th afternoon session. That was very unexpected!!!
Im choosing the Baltimore campus.. I dont want to watch replays everyday lol
so how many offers do that give out out of the 300 interviewed? seem like you have a big chance of getting in if you get an interview 😀

I interviewed on monday Feb 16, 2009. I would like to know if anyone heard from them? If not, When do we expect to hear from them? If I get accepted, do I get into my first priority Shady Grove or ...? How do they handle this problem if many of the students who are accepted choose to go to SG????

i got in too..im going to the baltimore campus!
i interviewed on the 23rd. I guess friday the 13th isn't so unlucky after all 🙂
did you guys start sending your transcripts already?

what they did last year, which i assume they will do again, is when they offer you acceptance, they ask you to tell them which campus you prefer. After the first campus is full, then they will assign you the one that has open spots (baltimore 120, SG 40)

Hey Pharmdzy, Congratulations!! 👍 That's very exciting news. I interviewed on the 23rd as well. Guess I will just have to wait and see...Were you in the afternoon interview? And if so did you do the group interview first by any chance??

That was the luckiest Friday the 13 ever. Wohooo Class of 2013!
So what do we do now besides sending in our check and telling them our preference of campus?
Are they going go send us a letter or anything to tell us if we have met all the prereqs?

Hey chicadefarma... i interviewed in the afternoon too, but i was in the second group interview. i'm the girl from sd, incase you remember me!

Eeek I sent in my deposit today! Now I'm just trying to apply for on-campus housing... 😏

Hi Pharmdzy, I DO remember you! I'm from S.D too! That's awesome. I hope I hear back from UMD soon 😕

Sent in my deposit too. I'll be going to the Shady Grove open house on March 7th, it's for both undergrad and graduate programs. Any other Shady Grovers going?

I'm probably going to check out some apartments too, at least narrow down where I want to live and where I DON'T want to live.

So...anyone receive a snail mail acceptance letter or other information yet?

I was ED and it took about a month to receive anything in the mail. I got email notification late october, then i had to send in the deposit by like november 7th. they didnt even cash my deposit check until 2 weeks ago! about a month or two later i got a formal acceptance in the mail. and about 2 weeks ago, I received a letter with my student id but it doesn't work yet to log in to anything. So it might take a while to get anything in the mail.

I have a question for any UMB students already living in Fayette Square. Is there a huge difference between the Towers and Historic? If not, I'd rather go for the less costly one...

congratulations on your acceptance! i'm not EXACTLY sure about the difference, I believe the "historic" was built a few months after the tower. Both were built about 4 years ago now. I would definitely choose the historic if possible, I haven't been inside historic appartments, but the dimensions of the rooms look nearly identical to the ones in the tower!

I interviewwed in UM on Feb 16 and I would like to know if anyone heard from them? Do we need to wait till mid march to hear from them? too long to wait.

hi i was wondering how important grades are after you've been admitted to the program? you just have to have passed all your pre-reqs right? would they revoke your acceptance if you didnt do so hot your last 2 quarters?

Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure that as long as you pass the prereqs, and you don't fall below the required GPA, you should be fine.

I also interviewed on 2/16. I really really hope I don't have to wait til March to hear back from them. I really really really want to get in. I'll breathe a huge sigh of relief if I do. I think the interview went pretty well, I mean, everyone was really nice... Maybe they were just masking their secret disappointment well? I've been refreshing my email constantly today. Does anyone know how they prefer to contact you? Email? Phone? Mail? Are there certain methods used for certain results? Like mail for rejection, Email for wait list, phone for acceptance, etc?

Im pretty sure you just need at least a C after you are admitted

Acceptances are given to the student, the day of the decision through email. Official acceptances in the mail takes a long time...probably after they accept everyone.

if people from your interview group have gotten in from the general applicant pool and you have yet to hear anything....is that a bad sign?

Not necessarily, a guy from my group in Erie received his acceptance letter a week after i heard from them.

I interviewed on the 23rd of January and still haven't heard anything. We all have to play the waiting game (yay....). It's only two more weeks so it's not too bad.

they states that official acceptance letters would be sent out in about two weeks the last time I called them.

does anyone know if they're done sending out interview invites?

They email you first. From what I get they don;t send out the official snail mail letters until you pay that tuition deposit so that they know you are coming. I'm pretty sure that's why they wait a few weeks to actually send out the letters. Wait like two to three weeks from your interview date. I found out two weeks after but they said they would be making all of the decisions after all of the interviews were complete.
