Anyone know anything about this program other than it is huge, has a lot of CRNA's, and is in Miami? I have an interview comming up and am considering canceling it because of the travel+hotel expense.

After speaking with a resident at their program via email I promptly withdrew my invitation. CRNA's have far more power and say than the residents, too many residents leading to poor time management, overall despondent mood.

The resident did however say that he felt he would be prepared and that there is plenty of pathology on hand there. I would only consider this program for its proximity to the topless models and insane clubs at South Beach.

For some strange reason they reinvited me today. Is it powers from above beckoning me to reconsider...no I think its the topless models trying to contact me via esp.

this program is a dump, the new chair is trying to do good things but overall morale among residents is very low and jackson ancilary staff is pathetic like the typical county hospital

I would suggest at least attending the interview.. this is one of those programs that you will either love or hate. The program itself is typical for a county hospital (lots of call, lots of scut), but there simply is no way to express how amazing it is to be living in the heart of miami for 3 or more years. The new chair seems very enthusiastic, and they even added a patient simulator last year. I spoke to lots of residents in the program and while they all stated that they work very hard it seemed like there is enough free time in your schedule to spend a couple of nights a week partying in south beach or taking a weekend drive down the keys.

I got the 2nd interview e-mail as well. As tempting as it is to live in Miami, I decided to turn this one down
