Very surprised to find out this morning that I was accepted and that I even heard back today! I was bummed I didn't get an email on Friday and wasn't expecting to hear back till at least Tuesday because of the holiday weekend. But what a nice surprise..🙂🙂

Also, for those who are deferred, I remember hearing at the interview that they are rereviewing deferred applicants the end of this month.

My interview is tomorrow and I'm nervous beyond words.. all my other interviews have been around 30 minutes or less, but it seems like Michigan's will be much longer :nailbiting:

don't worry! everyone is SO nice and welcoming. the time will fly by

ahh i wish i applied to my alma mater. my last reference letter came in a few days past the deadline. for all of you considering going to UofM i highly recommend it! it'll be the best 4 years you can spend. the school of pharmacy is located a block from south university where there's bars, restaurants, things to do. theres tons of housing on campus that aren't dorms. football/tailgating on saturdays during the fall are outrageous and crazy fun. if you can handle a little snow and cold, go there (you'll get used to it anyways)! tons of research, networking, and career opportunities too, lots of recruiters come to recruit uofm grads.

edit: theres housing literally across the street from the school of pharmacy, lol. and the SoP just got renovated like last year, it looks sweet!

have an interview on 27th of Feb, the location is Office of Student Affairs. I tried to google the location but it does not show up. I am going to take a taxi from the hotel. What address I should type on my phone GPS?

I have interview next week at Michigan but not sure if I want to go there anymore because I heard everything is sooo expensive. Is living cost really that high? (apparently my friend pay over $1200+ for a studio/parking) I am also out of state and michigan is more prciey compared to other schools and I don't think it is easy to get Michigan state residency....

I am pretty sure you cannot get Michigan state residency, under any circumstance, if you come to the state for school... which sucks -_-. But, they mentioned the opportunity for a lot of scholarship stuff, primarily in the 3rd and 4th year of study.

Does anyone know if there's a facebook group started yet? Doesn't seem like there are many of us!

relative to other schools, i've noticed that UofM is pretty pricey, i agree. i'm from nyc, so the standard of living is pretty high here, so housing at uofm didnt surprise me; however, after visiting other schools like u.buffalo and albany, i can see how UofM is really expensive. $1200 for studio/parking sounds about right. you won't be able to find any studios under $1000. the luxurious apartments that the "rich" kids live in are zaragon place, utowers 2nd floor, landmark, or 411 lofts. prices will range from 1200-1800 depending on whether youre in a quad, triple, double, or single. dorming is generally ~$10,000 for the year. if you're looking for a room in a shared apt or house it'll generally be $600-800, cheapest you'll find in ann arbor is ~$500 if youre good at finding a place. or do what some people do, split a room. it'll be like 300-400 for each of you.

How were the interviews? Any advice?
It's was probably the most comfortable interview I've had, it felt just like a regular conversation with both my interviewer pairs. Just relax, and enjoy your day there!

You're told to prepare 3-5 questions but I had so much time that I asked all my questions and had to come up with a few on the spot. This actually happened with both of my interviews. So maybe have some more questions prepared in your head in addition to the ones you write down.

Has anyone heard back from the 2/27 interview?

How long does it take from the interview date to hear back?

My interview was on Feb 27, and I got the acceptance email Mar 12. Mark told us we'd know by the 7th but it took a few extra days.

Did anyone hear back after interviewing on March 13? Mark said that he would email us if the decisions were taking longer than a week.

Interviewed on March 13th and was surprised to wake up to an admissions offer today!

Hey guys!

I took my PCAT today and these were my prelim scores:
VA: 412 68%
BIO: 430 89%
CHEM: 419 78%
RC: 398 47%
QA: 407 61%
Composite 413 74%

I am not that happy with my score, It wasn't what I expected honestly. I really want to apply for the upcoming admissions cycle, so heres what I got:

  • I have a 3.75 gpa from Wayne State.
  • I volunteer at a pharmacy on campus as well as hopefully shadowing at a hospital.
  • I've volunteered at a lot of red cross blood drives.
  • Volunteered in what are called "Wellness Warrior" clinics where I got to take peoples height, weight, cholesterol, blood pressure, interact in a patient care setting and got to sit in on patient counseling with P4 students.
  • I am apart of pre-professional medical society, community of scholars, and national society of collegiate scholars.
  • I have received the chemistry chair's honors award in Orgo. (award given to the top 3% of students in all undergraduate chemistry classes)
  • I haven't asked for LORs yet but ill ask my anatomy and orgo professors and the pharmacist I volunteer for.
  • Im CPR/AED and lifeguard certified. I heard they like when you mention that.
What are my chances? The website says to not underestimate your qualifications so I'd like some opinions on if I should retake my PCAT in September or apply as is incase I mess up my current score. Thanks!!
