So recently I've been hearing about more schools that have internal rankings and say that they don't (). So I was wondering if y'all know if the University of Michigan does internal rankings? Or like internal percentiles/quartiles, adjectives in the MSPE, something like that.

Probably not but you could call them and ask

Yeah they say what quartile you fell into in the deans letter I'm pretty sure

- Pre-clinical years are: pass or fail
- Clerkships are: honors, high pass, pass, or fail. Grades are based on a combination of shelf exams and clinical evaluations. With each grade they also report the distribution of students who achieved each category.
- They then combine everything for a cumulative quartile ranking.

This type of grading system is (the most?) common. True pass/fail schools are very rare. Honestly, with Step I going P/F you probably want some sort of stratification system to help yourself stand out.
