I just learned I got accepted into the MOT program for fall 2014 and was wondering what current/past students thought about the hybrid program? Thanks for any input!

Congrats!

How were you notified? Did you have an interview?

I also received an email that I am accepted to the program and am wondering the same thing! I did not have an interview either. Are you for sure attending or deciding between other schools?

I am not sure yet! What about you? I was accepted at St. Catherine and St. Ambrose also. I put my deposit down at SAU because I love d their program when I toured and interviewed but then got accepted to the others and they (especially st. Catherine) are much cheaper and shorter so I'm kind of torn.

me did the Hybrid program and was not impressed. So much of the work is done on your own and it gets hard to stay motivated. me wish me would have chosen a school that did not have an on-line portion because me like being in a classroom setting. What did you decide to do?

I am torn between Midwestern University (IL) and U of M because U of M is apparently "ranked" better and it is a lot cheaper! I put down my deposit for Midwestern in December and was pretty set on it but that school is a lot more expensive since it is private. Do you guys think I should turn down U of M's hybrid program and stick with Midwestern? Any advice/opinions?

the hybrid programs seem odd to me given that OTs spend most of their career in face to face interaction with a patient. to me traditional instead of online would be much better suited to our field. i would also think that hybrid programs may be better suited for practicing OTAs who already have some idea of how their job will go after they graduate and have a strong knowledge basis already.

i personally wouldn't attend a hybrid program. i love my traditional classes and i want to get as much out of my education as possible! i understand that it is difficult to get into OT school though and sometimes you have to take what you can get. just my two cents/opinion.

Thank you that was helpful! That makes sense that OTAs who are already in the field would do Hybrid programs.
