What makes dental school differ significantly in cost more than others? Ok I understand public has tax payer subsidies, but UofP in Cali is a bit over the top. i can buy that San Francisco is an expensive city but so it Boston. Tufts and BU beat the estimated cost of attendance by roughly 20 grand. What you guys think?

you finish the degree a year faster... its only a three year program

UoP is a 3 year program. You can make a case for USC if you want.

I turned USC down primarily because of the price. During the interview a guy from the financial aid office gave a presentation about paying off ~$ half a million in loans, and he was was giggling at the numbers the whole way through. He basically said that we would have to depend on some type of loop-hole that only affects fed-loans where you only have to pay 15% of your annual income (or the military/HSCS). If I remember correctly, without scholarships, or loop-holes a graduate would be paying ~$6K a month to pay off that crap in 10 years. No wonder you see so many USC grad dentists are in Bev-hills doing cosmetic dentistry, they are trying to pay off their loans.
