It seems like "for a few weeks" is the generic answer everyone gets when they call Pitt. I don't know how much credibility I'm giving that time frame anymore. On a different thread, I read that a student was told "a few weeks" for his/her waitlist to move, but the very next day a different student posted that he/she had gotten the call. I think the "few weeks" response is just to tide us over. It may actually be a few weeks, it may be Monday. Who knows...

Pitt asked us to send a deposit check to arrive between the 16th and 24th of May in order to hold a spot. If that's the case, then it sounds like theyll have a real good idea of how many people are definitely coming by the 25th, so that might be a key day for waitlist movement.

I have pretty much given up hope at Pitt. The Dean has repeatedly told me that they are not taking many people off the waitlists this year and that I should not have too much hope. I'm probably on the very lowest tier of the regular waitlist.

If you have the high (hopeful) waitlist, you probably still have a decent shot. If you are on the regular waitlist, you probably should have some alternative plans. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Sadly I think this is true. I don't get a very good vibe from anyone in the admissions staff regarding chances of getting in; I think it may just be a handful of top-tiers that get it, if anyone does.

But you're on the high waitlist. As I've said, you still have a decent shot. You're in a better situation than me (I'm on the regular waitlist).

I about to since I need to update them anyway. For those who did speak with the Dean of admissions, was it easy to talk to her? Or was she very busy and you were just taking up valuable time? 😳

They (admissions staff) wouldn't let me through to her via phone - I ended up emailing her. This was a couple weeks ago, right before May 15, so maybe things have slowed down and she can/will take calls.
Oh, and BTW, her email was very polite and helpful, so I imagine she would be curteous over the phone too. Let me know how it goes! 👍

Hey Guys.... The waitlist moved today. I went to the admissions office and the secretary said it "barely moved" today. Couldn't tell me how many people were admitted and so on. So I guess things may move?? Who knows... I give up, my "expected admission success" is a load of crock.

Yeah, I'm guessing a few got in. Maybe a couple of spots opened up and then they just filled them today so they're back to a full class now. That would suck but maybe more will drop (that's what I'm hoping... or trying not to hope or pray or think about). By the way, congrats to anyone who is reading this that got in... so envious 😛 .

Exactly. As much as I hope to get in, our "expectation that [our] application will be met with eventual success" isn't looking very promising anymore. 🙁

I talked to Paula Davis today in person.... They have given 3 acceptances so far off the waitlist and she doesn't think the waitlist will move much more. Whoever got accepted are either not snd members or are just not posting.
