Do you think this new program (2 years at University of Queensland and
2 years of clinicals at Oschner hospitals in New Orleans ) is worth
going to? I just want to be sure that I'll be able to secure a
residency in 2014. What do you guys think? Is this a better route than
going to the Carribean? I know that I will still be an FMG
unfortunately but will it be better since I am at a prestigious
university in Australia?

The problem with this program is that you can't practice in all 50 states. Some states, like CA, require you to complete your clinicals in the same place where you did your first two years. I remember looking at this program when it first came out, and there were a lot of people who were against it because of this. I don't know how Caribbean schools get around it, but I'm almost positive you couldn't get a license in any state. I'm not sure how much above a Caribbean grad you would be. My guess is that FMG pretty much = FMG (ie you would be regarded the same as a Caribbean graduate). That's just my guess though.
