Anybody else get an interview offer from UT today? I'm stoked but scared at the same time since it's next week! Anybody know of a good hotel to stay at?

Congrats on getting an interview offer. BTW, how did the offer arrive? Was it an email or by snail mail?

WOW, they're REALLY quick with the interviews. Didn't their deadline just pass on Feb.1? Is there anyone else out there that got an interview?

I found out via e-mail, but they said that they'll also send out a copy of the interview request via snail mail. Watch out for the subject line because it will say invitation to interview but the actual e-mail will be pretty vague.

I was afraid of that. Well, I certainly hope they are doing different rounds of interviews. I was interviewed last year. At least they got rid of the onsite writing component. Congrats again.

Hey guys,

I received an interview today as well! I've chosen to go next Saturday.

It did seem pretty quick, I sent in my application less than a week before the deadline.

Anyone who has taken it have advice? I'm curious what their acceptance rate is of those who they interview.

if you guys don't mind, what were your stats?

I have a 3.1 GPA, which was my weakest attribute. I got a B in Organic Chemistry and Organic Lab.
My GPA would be much higher had I not gotten 2 C's (Biology and Math) my first semester in College. I spoke with a lecturer at UT Pharmacy and they said they take this into account, as part of adjustment to college life.

My strongest points were 93 PCAT, 2.5 months working as Pharm Tech, and 80+ hours volunteer at hospital pharmacy over the past holiday season.

This is the school I've been dreaming about getting accepted to, so I am very excited 🙂

Thanks a lot for posting your stats and congrats on your invitation. Good luck!

I have a 3.5 GPA, with a higher science GPA than overall (Baylor burns us with the Religion and Constitution classes). My PCAT was an 87 and I'm also a certified pharmacy tech. I also completed a research project through UMinnesota with a recommendation letter coming from my mentor. I definately think that my research project helped me get an interview considering all those 4.0 smarty pants people out there with their 98 PCATS that apply.

I'm also going next Saturday Zynx. My interview is at 2:30 what about yours?

Hello everyone,
I'm a 2nd year student at UT and I will be there Friday to give a tour of the college at 4:30 PM cause I have class earlier that day. I will also be there Saturday to do some interviews and hang out in the hospitality room... good luck to all!

Hey there Lateralus1441,

My interview is scheduled at 1 P.M, so I'll be going out probably around the time you come in. Good luck!

Anybody have a clue as to wht question to expect at the UT-Austin interview? I wanna go in there with a general idea of what to expect.

Lateralus1441,

I am a first year student at UT Pharmacy school. The best way to get an idea of the type of questions that will be asked it to look at the Interview Feedback on the forums. You can search for UT Austin under pharmacy. Many people in the past have posted the questions they were asked in the interview. Basically you can expect some sort of ethical question, as well as questions about your personal statement. Hope this helps, and don't be nervous. For those of you interviewing from 12-2 on Sat. I will see you in the hospitality room!

I've stayed in the Marriot and the Fairfield on I-35 South and both are nice. They're both about a ten minute drive to the school.

For those of you that interviewed this weekend, what did you think? I was in the hospitality room on Saturday from 12-2 and we had a ton of great people there. Did you like our interview process?

I don't have anything to compare it too, but I can say the experience was awesome. I was there Friday 3-6....great and friendly people to chat with beforehand eased my nerves a lot. Even the pharmacy student that was their in the interview helped out a lot by just smiling and giving a reassuring nod every once in awhile. From the tour and just general conversations, UT Austin pharmacy just seems awesome. The only thing that was underwhelming was the video, but everything else was just great! Good job guys.

Oh yea I can totally say the experience was awesome. The pharmacy students made everything seem like it was gunna be easy for us to get through the day which really calmed my nerves. And I even interviewed with Dr. Wilcox the Assistant Dean! So yea don't worry, just make sure to look at the Interview feedback for UT here on SDN.

Did they really get rid of the onsite essay? That would be awesome if they did.

yup the onsite essay is no more which made the day so much more fun. Don't worry your interview will be so laid back.

I think they are using the PCAT writing component now. I interviewed last year, and I think I bombed the onsite essay. I did very well on the PCAT writing, so I'm hoping that'll help should I get an interview this year.

Does anyone know when UT is going to have their next rounds of interviews? I know they had rounds in March and April of last year. Just wondering if it's the same this year.
