I applied to the Toledo MSBS program in April, and I think the admissions committee will begin reviewing applications this week. I haven't seen much information about this program on sdn this year. Has anyone else applied to Toledo SMP?
Hey dubie
I'm a student at the university of Toledo. Please let me know if you have any questions about the school or the msbs program. I haven't seen much commentary this year about the msbs program either. Hopefully some people will reply and keep you company in the waiting game.
i did some research on the program, so if you have some questions i may be able to answer. i made a spreadsheet thats posted somewhere on here...
Please post your findings- How hard to get into this program? What the scholl looking for? How many will make to med school etc? Thank you

They notified me by email this morning. I applied ~May when they start accepting applications.🙂
I forgot to mention congratulations! I was noticing your stats. With those stats you should probably be able to get in without an SMP to at least a DO school esp if you apply early. Let us know what you decide on
I got admitted to Toledo MSBS yesterday. 30 MCAT, 3.0 BCPM Gpa, 3.5 overall GPA. I like the program a lot, but I was wondering if any current students or alumni might be able to provide some more information on it. That would be much appreciated.
Hi, and thanks! I got the email saying that my app was complete on May 4th..I actually submitted it pretty close to the May 1st deadline (like a day or two prior). Hope that helps.
Thanks! My application didn't get verified until April, but I'll post if I get in 🙂
I was accepted today! I am looking for a roommate. If you are a female and are interested PM me so we can talk about potentially being roommates. I am thinking of sharing a 2 bed / 2 bath with someone.
Did they email you? I'm still waiting...🙁
I was searching for a facebook or group website and found this thread. I was accepted into the program on the 17th. Congrats to my future classmates! Does anyone know if there is a facebook group or something we can all get together on?
Might be helpful for finding roommates, study groups, activities, etc.

Congratulations to all of those who have received their acceptances!
I am still waiting to hear back; it makes me feel a little better that the next round of decisions are going out next week, so hopefully I'll know then. I'm glad I found this posting.
If you guys have questions about Toledo or the surrounding areas, feel free to ask me (I know other people have offered too). I grew up only an hour away and have been living in Toledo for the past 5 years (I did my undergraduate degree at the University of Toledo).
I wish you all the best in your upcoming semester and I hope that I will be another classmate of yours.
Ps. Someone brought up the area around Toledo. Toledo has some sketchy parts, but the campuses are all safe and anything west of main campus can be considered safe (don't go too far East, unless you're driving downtown). Some of the apartments around the medical campus can be sketchy so I would recommend you visit the apartment a couple of times before you commit to one. It's really just the decision of whether you want to be able to walk to classes each morning or need to drive (or take the bus).
If anyone finds a thread for current Toledo medical students, please post 🙂 I'm trying to find out if there are any study materials I can get started on now + any other study tips for the upcoming year's classes.
Hey guys,
Just accepted to the program and have committed to start in the fall. I'm going to be looking for a one or two male roommates (depending on what apartment we find) to look for an apt with starting in August. Since Toledo is a relatively inexpensive area I'd like to find a nice place around the $500-700 mark per person. If anyone is interested please messag me on here or find me on the facebook group as Francis Delvecchio (Notre Dame network).
Hi!
My application says:
Application status: Decision Made
Decision: Applicant Acceptance
I found out June 17th that I was accepted. Hope that helps and I hope you hear good news soon! Definitely be persistent and send in a letter of intent if you haven't already!
I read somewhere that even if Carol Bennet-Clarke doesn't respond to your calls or emails, she does receive them. So keep it up!
Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for.
I plan to call her again tomorrow and hopefully speak with her this time. Also, I'm pretty sure the letter of intent was required for the application. I could be wrong, but I think I did one. Regardless, thanks for the suggestion!
Looks like you've been quite persistent at this, adfitzthum! Try calling Dr. Bennett-Clarke first thing in the morning (just a tip, as it worked for me). In fact, I was accepted that same evening, and so I'm considering myself sort of lucky now. By the way,my stats are : MCAT 27; BPCM: 3.33; cum. GPA: 3.45. BTW, what do you guys mean by a "letter of intent"? It's definitely not the same thing that I'm thinking about.
I know several people going to medical school now, either in their first year or second year of medical school. What sort of "study materials" are you wanting? Are you wanting to find books / lecture notes or something?
Edit: According to my one friend, she didn't use any books her first year; they were all either audio-lectures available for download or electronic pdfs. She apparently did not keep the electronic pdf files but may have the audio files downloaded still. If I can get these, I'll post them on my ftp server.
Edit2: She said the audio files are practically useless without the pdfs too. I'll see if I can get them from someone else.
Edit3: I forgot to ask, did you all apply for the MSBS - Medical Sciences program or are you doing different MSBS programs (such as Molecular and Cellular Biology, Orthopaedic Science, etc).
