If you are placed on a list for increased consideration for interview, how likely are you to receive an interview, since there is no gaurantee? Did anyone who received an interview from the school, know if they were on such a list?

I am scheduled an interview in Feb, but I didn't know if I was on such list.

I have an interview in mid Jan. I was never told of any list. I was sent an invitation, and that was it-no mention of a list.
Good Luck
Rob

I interviewed there in early november and was accepted recently. I didn't hear about such a list, although most medical schools do have them. In fact, I'm on such a list at a particular school that I like. What they told us at UVM was that most out-of-staters (after they interview) are put on a list that is broken up into tiers. If you are placed in the first 1/3 of the group, you'll most likely get in....... and so on....
Once placed on this list, you gotta call in and find out what position you're in. Remember that this is a list for people after they interview, not before. I thought this info might help to all those interviewing there. For those who are placed "On hold for possible interview", I feel your pain. I don't know what to do about it either!

Also, I should've mentioned that they told us that very few out-of-staters get in right off the bat..... that is why most out-of-staters are put on such a list. Out of the six med students I had lunch with, only 1 got in right off the bat, the rest were put on this list I've been talkin about.

Hope this helps
