What would happen if a person answered an uncommonly large number the the experimental questions correctly, but answered some of the "easier" question incorrectly? I mean, do the correctly answered experimental questions just not count for this hypothetical person who miraculously answered most of them correctly?

That would be my guess. Without adequate data from which to crunch the statistical analysis, the NBME would have no way to assign you appropriate points for those questions. By their very nature of being experimental, I think the only fair way to utilize them is for data gathering only, not counting for anyone - good or bad - across the board.

If you miss easy questions... then you've just missed easy questions.

Come on Brisket...admit it...you're officially obsessing over this thing. I'm just busting your balls. I took it Saturday, and it pretty much consumes me...despite the fact that I'm a DO student and still have the COMLEX coming up in just under a week.

At one point time was our friend...now it's simply our enemy.

Hey Brisket,

Yea, my friend said the same thing when he finished the test! He took it before May 15th so already got his scores back...he told me that he was very confident about the tougher/whack questions but worried like crazy over the extremely easy questions he got wrong. he never told me any of his questions, but from his complaining, it seemed like he just made a lot of pressured mistakes. when he got his score back, it was "miraculously" within 1 point of his last NBME. we were both surprised, but it seems like things have a way of working themselves out on this exam... i just hope i will have a similar end experience

yes, i am obsessing, and no it's not healthy. i need to get a new hobby. i managed to break my printer today, so maybe I can learn how to fix it in all the free time i have. either that or keep ripping my hair out and arguing with people on these boards.

It's okay to obsess. I've been obsessing about studying for the boards and when it's over I will obsess until I get my score. And when thats done, I will obsess until I get my ophtho spot; and then obsess about fellowship.

I can't fight so I just give in to it.

It's totally normal though, you did very well on NBMEs and UWorld, which means most of time you were pretty confident about the answers. This was the real deal, with all the stress involved, you may have found yourself not as confident about the answer choices; therefore, you are anxious and curious to see how you did. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that - although I admit it is probably emotionally draining. Again, I just wanted to say thanks for all the info you've been posting about your test.

Best of luck!

I don't know about fetch... but you can teach your cat to use a toilet.

I like cats. They're like nature's mobile cactus. mostly stationary, but equipped with pointies that will inflict serious damage when provoked.

I think what I'll do is abduct my neighbor's cat, teach it to knit, and then release it back into the wild. The cat will hit the knitting circuit and go worldwide. Then occasionally, I'll receive a scarf or handtowel in the mail, without a return address, and I'll know it's my little kitty reaching out to say hello. This is my sincere wish. I just wanna see cats do well. To strike out on their own, you know?

ok, time to watch some Wimbledon.

cant believe they lost the turkey/germany feed multiple times today...so disgraceful...heads must roll!
