I thought I researched every school I applied to in order to make sure I had all the requirements, but I messed up on this one. I only have 3 letters of recommendation, 2 from science professors, one from a dentist. UNLV requires two from science professors, and one from a non-science professor. Should I even bother doing the secondary? UNLV was one of my top choices too...

u should definitely do the secondary. letters is where schools seem to be the most lenient. as long as you have a dentist letter and two science teachers, ive heard of times where the 4th mandatory letter was overlooked in terms of handing out interviews. if you are accepted, then you would need to eventually turn that letter in
I didn't get my fourth letter to them last year and they didn't even review my application, so yes it is mandatory. But I believe you don't need to have the letter sent through AADSAS if you already filled up all those letters. It's just one more letter though and you should be able to find someone to write one for you.
Thanks everyone for the information. I don't think i'm going to bother submitting the secondary because of what you guys said. And I just realized, Creighton also requires a letter from a non-science professor... I can't believe i missed this. Oh well, lesson learned.
i would encourage u strongly to apply to both those schools, especially if, like you said, u really want to go to them. i submitted 4 letters to aadsas but my 4th one is from an employer and not a teacher, and ive gotten an invite to unlv. for creighton i remember calling them and they said the non-science letter is only a recommendation, u can use a science letter instead (so that would be 3 science letters)
you are right. I just spoke with them right before I saw your reply and they said the same thing. This certainly makes me feel a lot better. I just got to send all of my stuff in!
Call the number in their website. They are very good in answering the phone and your question.
Ya I called them a month ago and they said the fourth letter does not have to be a professor, just someone that has known you for a long time like 5 years. The lady used the example of a church youth advisor etc.

UNLV just told me a few days ago 100% that you needed 4. This is ridiculous since the last time I applied, I had 3 and they sent a "FILE COMPLETE" email to me....which is why I called now to make sure everything was right...and they said I needed a 4th...which I don't have...so there goes UNLV.
Yeah, as had been stated, you have to have all four for UNLV. My app is two weeks behind with them because I was missing one... They won't even look at it until you have all of them. Pretty lame if you ask me!

yeah i just found out today from a friend. furthermore, how do the prof upload it? thru AADSAS or directly to UNLV?
i mean some schools only want 3 so it would be pointless to upload to AADSAS if its going to be sent to ALLLLLLLL the dental schools.....

They'll probably hate me for giving that out. I would call her and let her know you are sending it. I just had the dentist send it straight to her.
