UNLV rejecton!

Hey guys,

i just received a rejection email from UNLV! Im pretty pissed to be rejected this early! Ive already got 2 interviews coming up soon, but i am surprised with UNLV decision this early. What ithink it might have happened is that my check for 50$ to UNLV was returned unfortunately due to insufficient funds! Then i called the school a couple of weeks ago and I came up with a story explaining how my bank messed up and ... And they re-deposited my check a few days later. and now a week later i get the rejection email. Now.... could it be from the check that i got rejected or what? i didnt think it was that big of a deal, i guess they took it personal
by the way i have descent scores and all...

i doubt it was the check that got you rejected. if anything, they would say your app is incomplete or not even review you until they for sure had your check. Could it be you are OOS? it could be that the OOS standards are higher than their in-state stats. but you still got 2 interviews, so it definitely means you have something going for you!

just wondering, what mailing were you? im waiting to hear from UNLV myself.

Hey just curious, When was your mailing date? and which 2 interview did you get?

I don't think it's the check that bounced... Maybe b/c you sent them your picture? 😀 I'm JK dude!

I think its neither your grades nor your bounced check...looking at predents.com, some pretty competitive applicants are being rejected.

yeah, the unlv adcom is really helpful about squaring up your application.


also consider that UNLV hands 2/3 of their spots to in-state applicants. are you a NV resident?

Don't worry about the rejection.. just focus on the rest of the schools that you applied...

I'm also curious about your stats... I'm waiting to hear from UNLV as well. My stats aren't great so now I'm nervous.... Oh well. I'm OOS. =(

I am a California resident, and the picture was also pretty nice by the way, due to good looks offcourse! my app was mailed out on the 2nd shipment on the 7/10. my DAt scores are : AA:22 TS:24 PAT:18 GPA:3.12 BCP:3.25 .....fot the past two semesters my gpa is 3.9

Dont worry, I am anticipating to receive that letter too in a month or so.

i just got an interview invite from Columbia today, i could careless for anything UNLV has to offer. I just thought it would be nice to be in vegas and play lots of poker to ease of the stress!... but everything happens for a reason.

I was right!!! UNLV is the very first school that rejected me this cycle!!! Ya kinda upset about it but I guess they REALLY do care about GPA's especially if you're an out of state student. They told me everything on my application looks great but unfortunately the GPA is kind of low.
