Those of you who are in (c/o 2015), do you know how much UNLV is costing you this upcoming year, all costs?

check out this thread. I think cost of attendance is 74k for in-state and around $103,000.00 for OSS yearly and it is estimated to go up slightly each year. But i do believe that it is possible to gain in-state residency after the first year.

Do you know how much the tuition rise will be for the next 4 years given the budget cuts ? Also, will the cuts ONLY effect the in-State students or will it also effect the OUT-OF-STATE students as well ?

I recieved a piece of mail about a month ago and said to expect an increase in tuition of around 3% or something like that ( I believe each year), and i would have been an out-of state student, so im assuming it would be for both. But future UNLV students correct me if i am wrong. I was somewhat amazed how expensive it was for UNLV. For an OSS it was definately one of the most expensive schools out there (maybe even the most expensive d-school).

I don't think it is the most expensive as I think USC is the top one with 4 year of 320 K. I think UNLV will be as follow:

First Year: 72917 + 3900 (books)
2nd Year: 72917 + 3900
3rd Year: 72917 + 3900
4th Year: 49178 +2600

Total: $ 282300

I am out of state so it would never be 74k for the first year, but if you are in-state for nevada that definately helps

this is from thier website

Tuition (1st Year SDM, 3 semesters)
  • Resident: $16,439 per semester, $45,917 annually
  • Non-resident: $25,439 per semester, $72,917 annually
Might I add this is only for tuituon. Yes, TUITION ONLY 👎... Thats a large chuck of change if you are an OSS. And the 104K is the TOTAL cost of attendence for the first year as an OSS. Vegas is not a very expensive place to live now but it will still add to that price tag, I interviewed at UNLV and once they quoted how much it would cost as a 1st year OSS it was astronomical. About 30K less if you are a resident bwing that it is a state school.

PreD, you may be right about usc being the most expensive. I really dont know the exact cost for usc but i know its very high as well.

i dont know how much it will be for dental students..but for us undergrads it went up considerably at UNLV...so i hope for you it is around the same but...UNLV is making some major changes with staff, programs, etc.

I had an interview at USC and we were told 320 K for 4 years.

I think the 104 for UNLV is the total cost = School + Living Cost. The 100K ( tuition + Cost of Living)a year is typical of the major private schools such as NYU, Midwestern AZ, BU , Case and ...

I am an International so I will not become Nevada residence after the first year so the 73-76 K a year will be normal.

Yup... that is the total cost of attendence, which is what the op was asking. but if usc was 320k just for tuition, that is outrageous. Thanks for the input PreD. Where will you be attending?

I have to make a decision this week between NYU and UNLV. I wrote my final exam today so have some time now to really think.

according to the email conversation I had with the school a while back, that 3% tuition increase is what is approved currently. That is not set in stone and can change whenever the board decides to change it. I would expect greater increases than 3% if the financial situation in Nevada continues...which seems to be the case.
