Could you tell me if any DO schools have an unofficial GPA or MCAT cut-off?
This will help me with school selection.
Thanks.

No one knows for certain about an official cut-off GPA or MCAT; however, some schools mention on their website combination of GPA and MCAT to be a successful applicant. The consensus at SDN is that a minimum of 3.0 s/cGPA and a 24 MCAT is needed to apply to DO schools. If you dont have that minimum, you will have a tough mountain to climb. Of course, you will find people who got in with some variation of these stats ie 2.8 GPA and 28+ MCAT or 3.6+ GPA and 22 MCAT of some sort....

Many schools have the GPA cutoff's listed on their admissions websites.

For example, I think I remember that Midwestern (AZCOM and CCOM) required a minimum of 2.7. I think a handful of schools had a cutoff of 2.5. And I remember DMU having a 3.0 cutoff.

MCAT limits? I don't remember seeing any of those.

Some schools have unofficial MCAT guidelines that they go by, although if you ask they won't admit to it...but when only people with 27 and higher get interviews, it is kind of obvious that MCAT is a screening factor. I know the Midwesterns use MCAT score heavily during the initial weed out as does Nova. Besides those three, I don't know of any others. Keep in mind that these are three of the most heavily applied to schools out of the DO colleges, so I think they use MCAT scores to get the initial application number down some before they pick their interviewees.

why is CCOM the most applied to DO school...just my luck🙁

Also, I called a lot of DO schools today and most said the same thing: you should have upper 20's on your MCAT and mid 20's to receive a secondary
