I have lived in MI all my life until 9 months ago, when I left for a temporary fellowship.
I still have a permanent address in MI, which I intend to keep, and I intend to return after the end of my fellowship wether I or not I get accepted to MSUCOM.

After reading MSUCOM's oos/in-state tuition guidlines, I am pretty sure that I still qualify as in state.
Any thoughts on my status? Thanks.

Definitely in-state.

I would agree... Did you get a driver's license in the new state?

Check with the financial aid office. In Illinois, for example, you have to reside in the state the 12 months prior to application to qualify for in-state tuition. On interview day they ask you where you have lived the past 12 months and if you write Illinois, you have to provide proof of a job or enrollment in an IL school, so it doesn't matter if you have an IL DL or your parents live there. MI might be more relaxed in their requirements, but the best way to know for sure would be to call the school and double check (anonymously, of course 😉 )
