Firstly, its better if you could go through this thread by WCL for information regarding the Qualifying as well as IDDP programs in Canada.
http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=101488
The info regarding the Eligibility exam along with sample questions is available at this link
http://www.acfd.ca/en/exam/
Most of the questions are already answered in this forum about preparation for EE ,other requirements for applying to schools etc.
Hope this helps.All the best!

The clinical assessment is not confined to any particular exercise. Each school has its own pattern of requirement. In Toronto,it is 4 preparations for the past 2 years which could be anything from cavity preparation to any extra coronal preparation with restoration and will be announced on the day of the test.Manitoba has a five day interview and skills assessment test.
The tests vary from year to year so learn whatever you can.More important is getting called for the Interview especially in Canada which is not only dependent on the EE score but also a number of factors like graduate school marks, work experience,etc.....Check out each school`s website for more info about the Interview/skills test.I do agree that it is tough in Canada to get into an University since there are only 6 universities as compared to US with few seats in each. This is not meant to discourage anybody and I am sure if you persist with your efforts, your dreams will surely come true.

Thanks !! For the EE exam,I read the ADA dental decks part1 & part2 with the question papers. The EE pattern is similar to National boards part 1 & 2.
I practiced at home for a few days for the clinical exam.It helped me to polish my skills just before the exam.

hi thabks for the reply.someone suggested me that jackey and well is good book-do u suggest.plz let me know how did u practise for clinical exam at home.did u buy the compressor. And also which book to refer for fpd and rpd.

I was wondering how many of our lucky SDNs got accepted in other universities in Canada i.e: UBC,UDal,UWO etc.

Will they post their stats?
Thanks in advance. 🙂

Hi! I did not have enough time to go through the book you mentioned though my friend had suggested it.About practicing for the clinical assessment,I rented the mounting rod & metallic head from Candent but bought the rest (right now I am selling them). At UoT,a pass or fail grade is given to each prep.Just take care not to make any major mistake.
I referred Shillingburg for FPD & Sturdevant for Operative dentistry(UOT students follow these books).
I will be leaving on vacation within a few days so if you have any queries send me a PM.

Hi,
In Acfd exam, there were no case related questions like 2nd day of Part2 .EExam in may had many questions from part 2 (clinical subject questions). In September,I heard it was more concentrated on basic sciences.
ACFD has not released the old question papers but there are about 30 questions or so at their website. It is very helpful.
