I found out that I got an interview in December that is set up for this January. So I believe that they did go over all tier 3 and are re-reviewing all applicants. Good luck! keep your head up.. its not over yet

To those who interviewed last Friday 1/22, do you know when we will start hearing about the results?

Thanks for all the good words. Yeah, I have to keep my sprite up. Earlier, I called the admission, they just said still reviewing application.
By the way, I want to ask whether the invitation letter arrived in US mail or E-mail.

Thanks.

I was notified my E-mail that I had and interview invitation letter on the way. Shortly after that e-mail...like a couple days... I received the letter through US mail.

I don't know if I should e-mail Veronica to follow-up on my application status. I am Tier 3, submitted my application on Oct. 27th, received a confirmation letter in mid or late November and that is it. I haven't heard anything from the school. I am anxious too.

Hey Pharmcrzy,

I was placed on hold as well, but never received an e-mail like you did. Was her e-mail a response to a specific e-mail you sent?

Hey Pharmcrzy,

Thanks for the response! I checked my spam...couldn't find it. Weird.

Yes, I believe the email about reviewing on hold applicants was generic; it was sent to everyone on hold.

Hi fatmaz,
That email about reviewing on hold applicants were for applicants put on hold before they are offered an interview or after they have done their interview?

I think it was for people who have not received an interview yet.

I can tell you that i was on hold BEFORE my interview. I've also heard of people being placed on hold AFTER their interview as well. Everyone is worried about being placed on hold, don't be. i think its just Pacific's way of saying we've looked at your app and we need more time!! lol

unlike other schools, whom you just don't hear for for like 6 months lol

😎

Hi fatmaz, were u in tier 3?

😕 When are we going to find out if we are accepted/rejected after an interview session? I can't take this waiting!

have the tier 2 ppl who were put on hold got interviews yet?

has anyone gotten an acceptance/hold/rejection anything with in the fast week or two?? this waiting is making me go insane..=(

I applied tier 3 and I haven't heard anything at all..when I call the office, they tell me my application is "complete" and still "under review"...what does that mean!? it's making me crazy...has anyone else not heard anything yet or heard something like that?

I'm in the same boat as you. I received a couple letters saying my application was complete and that I have all the prerequisites complete, but besides that, I haven't heard anything, no hold, no rejection, nothing.

Got my acceptance email today too 🙂 I was in Tier 2. 😀

Good luck everyone!!:luck:

Congratulations! I'm Sitting outside because I'm super early getting ready to check in. So nervous!

I got my acceptance email today! I was Tier 2 and interviewed on 1/22.

Good luck to everyone!

Guys, I feel so discouraged. I've been designated as High Alternate for Touro, Active Consideration for USC, Hold for Western, and now...Hold for Pacific. To tell you the truth, I think it's the interviews that is keeping me from getting accepted. I'm a little introverted, but I still feel that it won't keep me from becoming a successful pharmacist.

If I don't get into CA pharmacy school this year, I am planning to apply to about 15 out of state schools. Does anyone know if I will have a better chance out of state? I heard that some out of state schools rate interviews using a standard score. Afterwards, they review the applicant's whole profile (paper application, GPA, extracurric's, LOR's) and assigns them a total standard score, which they will then use to admit the highest applicants in order based on their total standard score (unlike the CA schools, where they place a lot of emphasis on the interview). Anyone know if this is true, and which schools do this? Thanks for your help.

Don't be discouraged til the very end! I know a lot of people who were waitlisted at schools and got off at the end.

I don't know the acceptance rate for high alternative for their pharmacy school, but if it's anything like their med school, you have a great chance of getting accepted.

I could say something trite, like "Don't give up", but I will provide you something more specific. With Touro, I heard they take extra LORs and commitment letters that show how much you want to attend their university. When they rank the highs, the committee will see the extra work you put in and may grant you a higher number on the hold list.

Being introverted and being a pharmacist can be lock-step and then again, not. That's the beauty of this career; it's the variety of scope. For a retail pharmacist, I would say being an extrovert is a definite plus and probably mandatory with some employers. For the clinical or research side, I would say there is a less emphasis on it.

For those that have been interviewed. Would you say it was a bad thing if an interview session with the professor is short as opposed to long? I know that they allow 20-25 minutes for the interview but mine was a little over 15 minutes.... I'm so worried. 🙁

I know how you feel, I don't even know how long mine lasted. I didn't want to be rude and look at my watch. It was hard to judge because the monitors kept knocking on the doors. I swear I felt like I couldn't think of anything to say and when they asked if I had any questions I did everything I could to keep talking.

well i know when they knock on your door once its a five minute warning before you hit the 25 minute mark and if they knock a second time then your 25 minutes has been up

I thought schools usually take 3-4 weeks to notify you? it can take only a week?

I know if they really like you and you rocked the interview UOP will let you know sooner. So yes they will notify you within 1 week if you were really great. I was also informed during my interview day that the ADCOM, a majority of them, will be attending a conference in long beach this week so it will delay the the decisions of applicants acceptance, hold, or rejection.

has anyone received invitations for February interviews yet???

Yes and I was shocked at the timing. I didn't expect to hear anything until AT LEAST Feb 5th, 2 weeks from my interview date.

I got my acceptance email today! I was Tier 2 and interviewed on 1/22.

Good luck to everyone!
I was interviewed on that day too but there has been no news for me. Hic...this makes me very anxious.

Hang in there. It seems like the average time is 2 weeks to hear back for some people. I think the review committee reviewed my application early.

I am in Tier 3. I sent my UOP supplemental application in on October 27, so definitely pretty late in the game. I was contacted in late-December or early-January by mail for my interview on 01/29/10. On my interview day, there were plenty of people from all three tiers of application. We were also told that interviews were being conducted until late-March. They seemed to think that they still had plenty of class spots to fill. I'm sure that you will hear from them very soon. I wish you lots of luck!

I'm in Tier 1 and What if you didnt receive any letter regarding interview....maybe I should call and check!!!

To those who got accepted to UOP, could you please post your stats so that others can know what the school is looking for. Or if for some reason you don't feel like broadcasting, you can PM me?👍

Thanks!

also.. can those who got accepted post their screen name on the "class of 2014/2013 official acceptance thread" if you have not... I think we all generally want to see how many seats are taken (well for the people that are registered with sdn) 🙂

Hey OldPharm, when did you get your notification of invite?? Also does UOP email, call, or snail mail you the invite?? anybody know?

I got an email saying I need to call the UoP admission office to set the interview date. So, I called and picked the interview date. I'm out of state, and maybe that's why they gave me this option.. I don't know.. Then I received the interview invitation letter via snail mail a few days after that.

i submitted my pharmcas and supplemental on oct 27th and i got an interview for 2/26 so there's still a chance! stay positive!

i'm a female. for those that have interviewed, i assume most/all of you wore a pant/skirt suit with a jacket?

congrat Katl20 for getting the interview. 👍👍 😀
