How on earth did you come up with that statistic. I guess what I mean is that I'm calling bull**** on that without evidence to back it up. Ever been to new orleans, detroit recieving, shreveport, miami?
I interviewed at highland last year and yes, I was told they do a tremendous amount of trauma, but if I remember they only have what like 1-2 spots per year. If they do more than some of those really large programs like NO, that is all they would ever do, with that few residents.
With that said, I did think it (highland) was a pretty good program, I don't know what I think about Dr. Indresano though. They told us in the interview they do a pretty good range of cases there. They go with a couple guys and do a ton of orthognathics on that rotation. They also seemed to have quite a few faculty, with some doing OR cases predominantly and others clinical, which is good. Downside is you have to live is oakland, which is expensive and it's kind of dumpy. Upside is, that your only half and hour from san fran.
Go on the interview, it can never hurt you to see one more program.
