is this for an alternate interview? From my own personal experience as a alternate interviewee, when I had mine, they were very thorough on asking about all the weak points in my application (they went point by point on some bad grades I had in the past, questions about family life, everything, seriously) and it was a very grilling interview. Never the less you will love the interview day, as the administrators and students there were by far the nicest and most informative I have ever experienced and they treated us like family. Know your application to the T and be prepared to answer questions regarding any weaknesses you may have in it.

it's not a hard interview, the student interview is very simple and relax, they ask about you and why dentistry and things like that (it does, however, depend on the student) the faculty interviews can be different, mine wasn't hard , she asked about how much i want to get into UOP (wanted to see how committed I am to this school) she asked about some of my grades and also my life in general. U felt very relaxed and comfortable , just don't be nervous and know the reasons you want to go to UOP and also the general things they expect you to know, why dentistry, why you,...

AND have a random story about yourself ready. My whole interview group had to introduce ourselves and I was the last person to go and this is what went before me: "I go to harvard...i play NCAA volleyball.....I played shortstop in the world series.....I have traveled the world for the past year.....i am fluent in 3 languages.....I triple majored....I have PhD in physics....I'm a pharmacist......etc". It gets to me and I'm like (WTF?!?!) "uhhh...I love going to our rec center and playing raquetball" haha. I felt like a loser!
You still got in.

Dont be fooled here folks, SaxyDucky is freaking stud in school. I didnt have the same mix of superstars in my group. The coolest thing we had was someone who could barely vote and then me the geezer.

I had my interview in Jan. Since it was my top choice, I was very very nervous. I felt like everyone knew someone at UOP and I didn't because I dont live in that area. I loved the school and it convinced me even more! I hope that I get in this year! Since I was very nervous, I feel like I talked a bunch. It was all related to what we were discussing and I just wanted to make friends and be nice. I am a very outgoing person, but since I was nervous, I was even more outgoing 😕

I had an interview there yesterday. One guy interviewing said that when they called him, they said it was for a spot on the wait list, but I talked to my interviewer, and he said that I wasn't interviewing for the wait list; there were still about 20 seats left, or more. So either the person who called that other guy was mistaken, or they're interviewing some people for spots and some people for the wait list.
It's super relaxed; my interview with a student was with a first year and we just talked in the lab, where other students were around. Most of the interview was me asking her questions about the school, and later someone explained that the students really don't have much input; they give their two cents but it doesn't count for much, and they only really take it into account if the student says "Whoa, don't let this person in," which rarely happens. There's no reason at all to be nervous for the student interview.
The faculty interview is an hour long, and also pretty relaxed, but not as relaxed as the student interview. I hear some of the interviewers go on a walk with you to ask questions, but mine didn't. There was no grilling and no hard questions. My interviewer spent a lot of the time telling me about the school and my chances (which, he said, were very good), and giving me advice on how to make it more likely I got in. The hardest question was something like "what is a challenge that has come up in your life, and how did you grow from it?"
If I remember right, my interviewer said that they are making selections next Saturday or Monday, so you should hear back really soon after your interview. He told us 10 days.

i told my group i was able to identify jamba juice smoothies/ingredients by sight and smell cuz i worked there for 1 1/2 years.... -_-;;

I turned 18 twice (I crossed the international dateline at just the right time).
Hey, I was in your interview group...and I'm a superstar in my own mind.
I wouldn't say this is quite accurate. Student interviewers fill out the exact same form about the interview as the staff and faculty. Student input at our school is always a consideration, including admissions. The idea that our input doesn't matter much isn't quite right, at least not in the light you put it. Unlike many other schools, our school only invites a relatively small # of students per seat we have open to interview. The admissions department is very selective of who gets an interview at all, so if you get one, that means you're already highly considered a great candidate for the school. That means student input isn't as important if it is positive cause the school already figures you to be a great candidate and our input simply confirms that. But you're right, if a student interviewer has a very negative opinion of the student, that is when the admissions department takes a step back and looks at everything again as to whether you are quite right for the school. The fact that 95%+ of the students who interview are either given a spot or waitlisted for a spot simply means we already know, when you get here, that you're probably a good person for the school.

Hey so..I also have an interview there for March 5th. It's a LONG story how I am scheduled that late. Go read my post t-mobile jacked me, I just post it. So do we do a group interview at UOP?? I thought it was an one-on-one interview. For those of you who had an interview there already. What were some of the tougher questions they asked you?? If you guys dont mind sharing....

it's not a group interview... we all sat in a group n introduced ourselves at the beginning of the day... our interviews are individual. 🙂 pretty chill n relaxed. 🙂 they ask the basic questions... i really didn't get any hard ones...

I'm interviewing for the waitlist on March 9th....I sure hope a lot of people decide that UOP isn't for them, cause it would be a dream come true to go to school in San Fran!
