So I interviewed and got an email stating:

"Although I am not able to offer you admission at this time, I would like you to remain encouraged that we will review your application again after the interview process is completed in March. Please know that your application was given the personal attention it deserves and the committee believes your profile is strong enough to be considered for admission or waitlist status."

I am confused. This is a mixed message, what does it mean?
Has anyone else been in this situation?
Are they reviewing again in March because more of their own students applied to the program??

Any information on this would be helpful. ( I added the bold for empahsis).

Hmm.. when did you interview if you don't mind me asking?

I think what they mean is that they can't accept you right now, but they aren't rejecting you outright, so they will review your application again once March roles along and THEN they will decide again if they want to accept you or waitlist you. So right now I think your application is on hold.

I interviewed in November. Man...I am in LIMBO! And I dont mean the dance...

I got the same letter. It sucks. I wish they just tell me, so I can go on with my life.

Has anyone been in this situation last year????

Do you think that if we are waitlisted, that we'll be on the high end of the waitlist. Or is this letter sent to everyone else who was not accepted right away cause UOP does not send rejection letters until April? I heard UOP divides it's waitlist to high, moderate, and low waitlist status. I feel like I'm obsessing over UOP...ugh.

No clue....thats what I was asking u.

I did ask though if it means that you are guaranteed a wailist position....
They said no.
On the flip side they said you could still be accepted outright...who knows...
Basically giving u no new info...
Limbo continues....

The only reason I care is becuase IT IS my 1st choice. I liked it there, more than anywhere else....we can only hope for the best.

How long did UOP take to send out those acceptance/waitlist letters/emails? 3 weeks after the interview as they said?

UoP gives its students top priority first because they did the accelerated program or got a BS as an undergrad there. According to what I remember, they only accept 100 students out of the... 1700 that apply? Not too sure about the statistics, but it is hard to get in.

I was talking to one of the students who got in, he said that what would help the most is how active you are. For instance, work study or community service would be a big plus. For this reason, I am joining a pharmacy fraternity Rho Pi Phi becuase it is well known at our school for doing a lot of work in the community.

And yes, I am currently a freshman at UoP.

Interviews? Are you guys talking about the Pharm D program? Or is it the Accelerated programs. Because I'm kind of scared since I didnt get an interview, and all the while I've been waiting for my acceptance scheduled to arrive in March.

anyone here know when you will be notified if you are accepted?

They said they'll contact us in 3-4 weeks. In reality, they didn't give us a definite time frame. I heard that we're supposed to hear something by March....but that's a long time to wait!

Keep us posted if anyone hears anything.

im pretty nervous right now. I was put on hold for Western, didn't feel so good at USC, got rejected at Midwestern CPG, and now holding my hopes for either UOP or USN. If accepted to both, I will go to UOP because its been around longer. I feel I interviewed good for both. The next 3 weeks will be anxious.:scared:

I'm anxiously waiting for UOP as well.. I don't think my interview was stellar so I'm just hoping for the best.

When did you all interview?

I interviewed Jan 12 and they said 3-4 weeks and tommorow is the three week mark so I'm getting really anxious about them.

i interviewed on Jan 26. Yeah, i hate waiting. THis is my second year applying. It would be heartbreaking if I didn't get accepted this year. I wouldn't wanna be heartbreak when Valentines comes around.

I interviewed on January 19. Wow, all of our interviews are a week apart! That's strange. hahah. I try not to think about my mail because I really have no idea of when things will arrive. Good luck to you guys. This process is very nerve-wracking!

I interviewed at UOP 11/3 and I received an email acceptance on 12/7, so I think the wait time is almost exactly 4 weeks.

email acceptance? did you receive a letter afterwards and how long did it take?
also, could you share your stats, where you're from? thanks.

4 weeks?? Bummer.. this whole waiting game is setting in now that I'm done with my midterms and have more time to worry about them.. :scared:

The actual snail mail letter took another week or so after the email.

Do you know if people were on this hold status last year? How did it pan out?

Anyone here know if you send updated Fall 2006 transcripts to both UOP directly and PharmCAS? or just to PHarmCAS?
thanks.

just pharmcas for now. when they accept you, they'll want everything.

i just got a response from veronica semler that we should send the transcripts to uop directly now since pharmcas update is closed.

I see. But if I already updated via pharmcas, do I need to do it again for UOP?

I don't see the point if your pharmCAS is updated with your fall grades, maybe Veronica just means update you winter quarter/spring semester grades.

In other news.. has anyone heard from Jan interviews? Its been 4 weeks!

what i meant to say is if you haven't done so, you would have to send it to UOP because PharmCAS Update is closed.

okay, thanks for the clarification.

polarbear, nope I haven't heard anything back from them yet but I interviewed on 1/25 so it has only been 2 weeks for me. Maybe you'll hear back next week...good luck!🙂

has anyone heard yet from the jan 19th or 26th interview?

Not yet! they told us (on Jan 19th) the decision making process will take approximately 3 weeks. Last friday was the 3 weeks mark. I guess we will find out this week?

whoever received anything, please post there!

I am from Jan 12th interview and I am still waiting to hear anything from them. Does anyone from Jan 12th interview group get any letter yet?

Nope, haven't heard anything, its been over 4 weeks!

i called the admissions office to ask them a question and was told they are not taking phone calls and suggested i email questions. I guess they are busily going over the admissions process.

thanks for the update. what's taking them so long!?!?

since we all belong in the 2nd tier, i think they meant 4 weeks from January 26th.

:wow:

I hope not.. I just want to find out already where I stand. How about first tier people.. they all didn't find out at the same time didn't they??

I know though my friend who had her interview in Nov 18th-ish didn't find out until around the second week of January.. crazy! I was attributing that to the holidays though slowing everything down.

I interviewed on 1/12, and I got the same thing as BanBidil this morning. Do they just send out that letter to people who don't get accetped this time?

just wondering, do they email you to put you on the waitlist and also if you got accepted? or do they mail you a letter if you got accepted?

I received an email acceptance back in December, so I know they definitely do email plus snail mail letters.

They sent me an email this morning. I guess the letter will come either this or next week.

From other peoples post, it seems like you both an email and a letter whether you've been put on hold or got accepted.

I also got a "hold" email this morning as well. I thought i did well on my interview. I guess I'll find out in april whether i get accepted from their hold list.

I wonder how many people were accepted.. I am on hold as well.. 🙁

Is there usually movement on UOP's hold status? More waiting I guess..

for those who got the emails this morning, what day did you interview?
12th, 19th, or 26th?

Wow, did anyone from Jan 12th get an acceptance (at least who posts on this forum)? I interviewed on the 26th. Does anybody know what the first Tier 3 interview date was? I was Tier 3. Are the 16th and 12th Tier 3s as well? Maybe we're just super low priority! 😕

Wow, did anyone from Jan 12th get an acceptance (at least who posts on this forum)?

I find myself deciphering the e-mail just like the OP is..

Here are some parts of the e-mail I find of interest lol..

"Your application has been reviewed by the committee and a decision has been made to place your application on hold. This is not equivalent as being placed on the waitlist. All final decisions will be mailed by the second week in
April"

"your profile is strong enough to be considered for an admission offer or a space on our waitlist status"

"Also know that very few offers of admission have been made at this time"

"The committee plans to make most of the final offers after the
interviews are completed"

So from my understanding people on hold will get letters in April whether or not they are placed on the waitlist, I'm just confused if they say they only accepted few people just to make me feel better or if thats really the case.. if its the truth then I wonder if they are just waiting for the March interviews or maybe they are waiting after the UC's make their acceptances to see who is still interested?

I'm trying to figure out their admissions strategy.. 🙄

Anyone else have similar thoughts?

i wish 1/19 interviewee will find out this week too........ i don't like that wait...
