So I found out today that I am on the waiting list for UOP. Is anyone else in the same boat???

Does anyone else have previous experiences with this waiting list???? 🙁

when did you interview? and was this after being placed on hold? Did you get the notice by email?

I interviewed in Nov. was put on hold and now im on waitlist...😡

They wont even tell you your position on the waitlist...

I interviewed in January and was told 2 weeks later I was placed on hold until the middle of April when they will finally decide.

oh no I was placed on HOLD, but I haven't been put on the waitlist or been accepted yet.

I think they are doing this tier by tier by tier and we will find out soon (I am in the 2nd tier)

If all the acceptances so far has been made through email, does that mean if we don't receive an email by next week?, then we will be receiving snail mail indicating rejection or waitlist?
Here is what was in the hold email I received in February:
"A final decision will be made shortly after the interview cycle ends at the end of March. Our goal is to have all decision letters in the mail by the second week of April."

Admissions personnel indicated yesterday that acceptance letters were being sent out in scattered format and final decisions will be made by April 15th.

I did apply apply other places. I had 4 interviews. UOP, Pacific U (portland), USC, and Western.

I was rejected from USC.
Waitlisted with a high number w/ Pacific U (whatever).
Waitlisted at UOP in the middle (this one hurts the most).
Waiting from a decision (PROMISED Monday april 9th by coordinator) from
Western U.

All the other places I applied (5 other schools) rejected me by now, or will send me a rejection letter later. ALBANY WAS A WASTE OF $40 on PHARMCAS, glad I didnt pay the $100 (they are still emailing me though).....we are genuinely BULL**** interested in your application (ahem $100), there may be some spots left 😛 🙄

i feel for ya, banbidl. I was in the same situation as you last year. This is my second year applying and if I were not accepted, I would completely lose all hope. Last year, I was rejected from USC and put on the alternate list for Western. I waited all summer hoping and praying, only to find out I did not get into Western. This year, I was also rejected from USC and also waiting for a decision from Western(not hopeful because of the bad interview). So basically UOP and USN are now my only hopes. It's a good thing you have a good sense of humor or else all this can kill you. Good luck.

FYI this is also my second year applying-last year I applied late ( 2 wks before all deadlines)....this year everything was done in 1st week of September! By the way, the bad interview stuff, essays, writing sample is all BS, it all comes down to when you applied and grades..... dont let anyone else fool you. I am kicking myself for those 2 "C" grades in my pre-requisites. Everything else is a B or A....

The things is that PharmCAS screwed us over by making us go through them for $$$$$$$, more hassle for us (you have to re-send transcripts anyway). And even if you majored in one of the toughest areas of science in a top 20 school in the nation, which has low GPAs (because you considered research), it doenst matter....its a game. Those who have completed the pre-reqs but NO bachelor with a 3.7-3.8 for something like 50-70 units stil get to go as opposed to someone who has taken upper division coursework and has over 180 SEMESTER-thats right SEMESTER units with over 100 of those units in hard sciences!


They do not consider the fact that NOT everyone knows what they want to do in college right away......😡

I interviewed on 3/23 and I haven't heard back from UOP yet. I sent all my material on 11/1/06--the deadline date! I hope that sending my application late in the process doesn't affect my chances too much 🙄

I have to admit it was one of my first interviews so my professor interview at UOP was kind of iffy, it was mediocre.. nothing horrible though .. but I thought my student interview at UOP was my best interview BY FAR.

Hmm.. I guess the professor really didn't like me? 😕

Meh I'm just glad I have complete closure now

Polarbear....I know exactly what you mean. I thought the interview went well if not at least decent. I have also been placed on the lower part of the waitlist. So basically, no chances of getting in. Sucks! I can't believe I have been left hanging since Oct only to find out that I'm not getting into that school! Where's that darn "Wall of shame list" anyways....gotta add yet another school.

I got the dreaded waitlist letter too. I'm at the top pile of the list so there might be some chance for me.

I called UOP and they said there might be around 70 people on the waitlist, depending on who accepts or declines to be on the waitlist. They also said the number of people pulled from the waitlist varies every year. Sometimes they don't get through all of the top pile, but other times they get all the way to the bottom!

Hi Polar Bear. I interviewed on Jan 26th and was accepted on March 22nd.

For those of you on the waitlist--I turned UOP down. I imagine a lot of people who applied to the UCs might have been holding slots at UOP and might be giving them up now, so don't be discouraged!

Just received my waitlist letter after being put on hold since mid-October - and losing a lot of sleep! Top portion on the list is encouraging but not guaranteed. Though it seems quite a few students are rejecting their acceptance letters and going elsewhere... so maybe there would be a number of openings available by mid-August - only time will tell.

Good luck to all still waiting....not exactly a pretty sight...after a great deal of hard work and effort...now the waiting game!

after sending in my acceptance of wait list last week, i got a reply by mail today stating they have received it. According to the letter, they anticipate this year's waitlist to have aprox. 50 people on it! So I'm assuming it's not going to grow from that number! I don't know if they mean 50 would accept the wait list offer or 50 would be offered waitlist. Anyways, it says that one year all the waitlist candidates were offered space while another year, none were accepted! Well gathering from the people on this board who will be turning down their acceptance offers(7 people so far), i bet this year it won't be none for sure! So if 50 people were on the waitlist and 16 people turn down their acceptances, that would be all the top portion of the waitlist. If more people turn it down, then some of the middle portion would still have a chance. Well, good luck to you all!
