How can Univ of Pacific be a 3 year program? Do they miss out on things?

I have some guys I go to school with that have friends at Uop...turns out they pay an insane amount in tuition, and do all of the first two years of preclinical classes in a year.

really...a 3 year dental school...does this hurt your chances in getting a residency, or getting into the next stage..

btw, how is UOP ranked among dental schools...is it good?
