Got sick a few weeks ago and got a moderately bad cough. It has lingered. I have an interview in a few days and I doubt the cough will go away. Will it negatively affect the interview evaluation if I'm coughing during the interview?

Make sure you cough all over your hand before shaking hands with your interviewer. Best way to establish dominance.
I thought it was to immediately piss on their desk while baring your teeth and staring them directly in the eye.

You might bring a mask (the kind available for free at the entrance to any healthcare facility) with you, in case the situation isn't well-controlled through other measures.

When I was sick during interviews I usually threw a quick “sorry I’ve got a bit of a cold” after introduction which was usually followed by some small talk and then it would be fine

As a pre-med, I mean, you're basically a doctor. I find it disturbing that you're not able to treat that cough.
