Update Letter for Grades?

Hello everyone,

I received my fall semester grades and was wondering if I should update my schools (one waitlist, rest are pre-interview). Applied with a 3.5 cGPA and ended with a 3.75 last semester. Is this a big enough improvement to send it in an update letter with my unofficial transcript? Thank you in advance for your help!

Assuming equal number of credits per semester and six prior semesters, plus this one, you've moved your GPA from 3.5 to 3.62 by my rough calculation. Where does that place you in relation to the school's 10th percentile, median, and 90th percentile. In other words, how much does that move the goal post at this late date? If your academics are holding you back, this might help but what might be factored in are the courses you took up until now and what you took most recently (was it fluff? was it very rigorous?). It doesn't cost anything (but a few minutes of your time) to send the update so you might as well if you think it will put you in a better position to be interviewed. With another strong semester, you may have an improved chance the next time you apply compared with this cycle. Keep plugging away!

Thank you so much! Your reply was a much needed boost, this cycle has been tough. Your calculation is pretty close, and I think my GPA may be slightly holding me back, so I will send them to the schools that accept them. I appreciate the encouragement a lot!
