update letters: ok to fax them?

I am getting an update letter ready to send to med schools after several months of waiting. The postal mail seems to take too long and it may get lost in the mail as well. I was wondering what people thought about faxing update letters instead of mailing them. Please post your comments here. Thanks.

Why don't you use the USPS' next day air service? I forget what its called. Express? Priority? Either way...it'll get there the next day. Theres a tracking number too.

The postal service really doesn't take that long. If you mail letters tomorrow, they will get there by the end of the week.

Personally, I wouldn't fax them.
