re. I am in the unfortunate situation of not having any II as of yet. I am holding out hope until I receive an R.

Stats: 3.8, 505 URM First Gen
Clinical experience: MA for three years in Derm working full time.
Volunteer: integrative oncology patient care coordinator for 3 years

I have just transitioned from Derm to a Plastic Surgery office doing post operative care and helping with in office procedures such is liposuction and scar revisions. I was wondering if I should send that in an update letter to the schools I applied to

You can. But since you presumably have a low number of hours it is unlikely to be particularly helpful, and will not address the underlying problem which I think you know.

There is unfortunately an obvious deficiency in your application that is going to make any school question whether you would be capable of passing a series of high stakes licensing exams. No amount of hours with any activity is going to be able to reassure them of this specific concern. Hopefully you will get in this cycle, but you need to prepare now in case that is not the case, and that means you should either plan to retake the MCAT in the spring or expand your school list to include DO schools.

It would be nice if you completed a WAMC template with a school list (with results so far). I agree that you should be applying to DO schools, and you are starting to be rather late there.
