I haven't posted in awhile, but a few months ago I was considering switching my focus from pre-vet to conservation bio. I was really conflicted at first, but I did go ahead and make the switch. I don't have to worry about certain pre-reqs now like physics, and can focus more on the upper division conservation and ecology classes that really interest me.
I just wanted to let you guys know that I am so happy I did. I feel like I'm going in a better direction for me, and I am starting to connect with people at U.S. Fish & Wildlife for a possible internship next year. Plus I work for both local zoos and I am connecting with people in that arena, so I feel really good now.
Not sure if anybody cares, but I wanted to throw this out there in case anyone is feeling conflicted about switching like I was. The more I look into the grad program, the more convinced I am that this is for me. I feel more engaged in my schooling now - which I admit is a little odd. Maybe because I don't feel so much pressure anymore.
I just wanted to thank everyone for chatting with me over the past year or so since I started this whole back-to-school thing. You've all been so very helpful and wonderful to chat with. 🙂 I don't know that I have much to offer here anymore, but I wish you all the best in your veterinary careers! I know you will all be rockstars.
