I haven't posted in awhile, but a few months ago I was considering switching my focus from pre-vet to conservation bio. I was really conflicted at first, but I did go ahead and make the switch. I don't have to worry about certain pre-reqs now like physics, and can focus more on the upper division conservation and ecology classes that really interest me.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I am so happy I did. I feel like I'm going in a better direction for me, and I am starting to connect with people at U.S. Fish & Wildlife for a possible internship next year. Plus I work for both local zoos and I am connecting with people in that arena, so I feel really good now.

Not sure if anybody cares, but I wanted to throw this out there in case anyone is feeling conflicted about switching like I was. The more I look into the grad program, the more convinced I am that this is for me. I feel more engaged in my schooling now - which I admit is a little odd. Maybe because I don't feel so much pressure anymore.

I just wanted to thank everyone for chatting with me over the past year or so since I started this whole back-to-school thing. You've all been so very helpful and wonderful to chat with. 🙂 I don't know that I have much to offer here anymore, but I wish you all the best in your veterinary careers! I know you will all be rockstars.

That is so awesome.

I'm really glad you found something that is right for you. Advanced schooling, whether its vet med, MD, DMD, or graduate school is hard even when you love what you do, let alone if you're not sure it's right for you.

So congratulations, and good luck with your internship and graduate school 🙂

I'm glad you are happy cozycleo, and good luck with your internship. I've also been looking into the FWS or the state natural resources department - seems like some awesome jobs with good pay. I wish you the best with the rest of your school.

I am glad that you found something that will make you happy, and also that you came back here and shared that with us! Good luck in the future!
