I just recently got accepted into the Special Sciences Program at Upenn... but i was wondering what the housing situation is like over there. Are post bac students eligible for on-campus housing?

Also.. are there any girls in the Special Science Program who are interested in having a roommate?

How many courses are best to take if one wants to finish the program in 2 years? Do students typically take 2 sciences with 2 humanities?

I also wanted to know whether the classes are within the main campus or off campus, and if students typically bring their cars to Philly with them or if it's more convenient to take the shuttle.

I'm not sure about on campus housing, but it's fairly easy to find off campus housing, depending on where you want to live. Subscribe to the post bacc list serve where people may post roomate or apartment availibilities and check the Penn off campus housing site for listings.

Also, taking your car would be helpful, but I hate trying to park and generally driving in the city.

Classes are on campus and most people I know took 2 or 3 sciences a semester depending on whether or not they were working. I'm not sure about humanities because I didn't know anyone who did the program and took them. I guess what to take for two years would depend on what you need. Finishing the program is more about getting the pre reqs you need, so that would determine how many classes you take.

I hope that helped a little. Good Luck! 🙂
