Hi everyone,
my Q is that
did you guys have to be on F1 visa for the pre enrollment 11 weeks?
or the F1 approval is the requirement for registration for fall semester?

there is no requirement of F-1 throughout the entire PASS program,
u can still remain on H-4,
i changed my status from H-4 to F-1 for my personal reasons.
but for study purpose, F-1,H-4, anything is fine,
of course visitor visa won't work at all.!!!🙂

actually I'm on F2 and it seems I have to change it to f1,
can I ask you how long did it take for your f1 to be approved,? I mean when you applied and when you got the approval?

Papadel,
H4 to F1 might not be a big deal but F2 - F1 is. Please consult an experienced immigration attorney. Also, as much as possible, stay within the country and try to get a change of status if possible. It is better to apply atleast 6 months in advance to be on the safe side. Again, kindly consult an attorney.

I agree. The International Student Office at your school will work with you too. 6-7 months is a v v safe margin especially if your papers have to go to a busy place like CA.

as you said time is very important , but on the other hand being approved is another issue.
Have you guys ever seen anybody with good financial support get rejected in change of f2 to f1?
