UPENN vs BU: PLZ REPLY

Hi,
I got an acceptance call from Penn today in the morning .I have already confirmed my acceptance with BU.Please suggest should I opt for Penn or BU since I have to deposit summer programme fee within a wk and its hard to arrange such a heavy amount within a short period period of time
I would really appreciate if someone can let me know the remarkable difference in the programmes of Penn and BU in terms of which one is better.Please reply ASAP as I need to give them an answer by today itself.

I am not in school. But from the research I have done, you should go to the school that will promise you what you want. If you want the cheaper school get into the cheaper one. If you want a school that gives you more clinical experience get into that one(from what I have heard UPenn gives you more clinical experience than BU). So it is actually upto you to decide. Find what you want out of the school. Ask that question and maybe students in school will answer you better.

I was in the same situation a few months ago. I would advise you to go through previous threads. There are numerous threads where members have given their candid views on both the schools. That should help you make an informed decision that you wouldnt regret later. Wish you all the very best

Yup, I'd agree with you, there jojo. To me, all of the programs are good, otherwise they wouldn't be accredited. So I would pick the cheapest and shortest, if I had that luxury.....at least the shortest, for sure 😀

Congratulations!

Upenn has much higher reputation and more advanced technology and more clinical work. More graduates go to postgraduate. If I were you I would definitely go to Upenn with no doubt.

Hi mahima ,
I agree with Keyvan. UPENN definetly is a more reputed dental school and will give you more clinical experience . In BU you spend nearly 9 months in preclinicals out of 2 the years . I dont think we who have already done BDS need so much of preclinicals .Moreover UPENN is a better school if you have any plans of post graduation . If I was so lucky to get acceptance from both these schools I would have definetly chosen UPENN .

I just wondering, you chose BU, what UPENN will do in this case, are they pulling an applicant from the waitlist? Then this guy will have to move quickly b-cause the school starts in 2 weeks and also he has to come up with the $17,000. Some much exitment, right guys.
