Uploading an Abstract in Additional Documents?

I.e. Yale has a section on its secondary application to upload abstracts, a resume, etc.

I want to send in the abstract of a paper where I am a co-author. How would I go about doing so? Can I simply upload a word document file with a copy and pasted version of the abstract? What is the norm?
