I was wondering if there are any Upstaters out there that have gone through the summer anatomy program. I am very interested in doing it and was was hoping that you could maybe tell me about your experience with it. Also, if you know anything about the application process, and the housing accomodations.

hope to hear from you guys soon! 🙄

From my understanding you can not choose to do the summer anatomy program at Upstate. I know because the spring before I entered I asked and was told that you had to be asked or rather given the option. I do know that it is about 8 weeks and pretty intense, most of the day spent in the lab. The first year curriculm now has anatomy by itself so I wouldn't worry about the workload. I would say enjoy your summer, you deserve it. Hope this helps. 🙂

The thing about summer anatomy is that you would have taken the condensed version course (No leg structures in summer course) before 90% of the class and while they are taking it during the semester, you will be TA-ing for a couple of weeks and be doing nothing for about 2 months. I think the tradeoff isn't all that beneficial, especially since you have to pay for the summer program, iirc.

Besides, you should just enjoy your summer with your friends back home, travel or get a job and make some money first.
