this may be a very elementary question, but is it very difficult to get a residency in or around a city if you went to a school that had mostly rural rotations? i guess schools like VCOM, WVCOM, LECOM-PA, DMUCOM, KCOM, PCSOM (although i could be wrong) who i am assuming are focused on getting their grads into rural parts of the nation... if you are a graduate from these schools, is it hard to get placed into residencies in or around cities? i was told that the demand for primary care physicians (FP, IM, or PED) is so big everywhere, that it really shouldnt matter where you went to school. i am really interested in applying to these schools as well and dont mind spending 4 years in an area, but being from a medium-sized city and only living around metropolitan areas, i dont know if i can handle practicing in a small town.
