URGENT: Last minute background check response - expected to respond within 2 days - What do I Do?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Here's the problem with this statement,
and the reason my parents told me they did it.
You feel compelled to add all sorts of rationale/detail. That's the thing about the law: who cares about the "why"? Fact is, they called and police wrote a report. You really don't need to tell more than that. Many parents have called the police on their kids. (Oh the stories I could write about my brother!) The very unfortunate aspect for you though is that the police took it seriously and wrote a report.

I have a similar situation.. I am currently in the process of applying to schools.

I was arrested for misdemeanor vandalism when I was 15 years old (now 24). I realize now after reading this thread that some of the secondary applications do ask if you have been convicted of anything other than minor traffic violations. Some schools which ask this question (Emory and USC come to mind) I unknowingly checked "No" on the box and went ahead and submitted my application.

So even though I was given assurance similar to OP that my record was expunged and sealed due to my classification as a juvenile, this charge is still going to come up on the DOJ/FBI criminal background check, and give cause to schools to rescind a possible acceptance?

Every time I have live-scanned for a university job, or hospital volunteer position it has been a non-issue, and I've never heard anything negative. Should I assume it will be a more comprehensive check, and that this certainly will be coming back to bite me?

Only way to know what is on your record is to get a copy of your FBI report and the report maintained at the state level.

When you say arrested, what do you mean? Do you mean convicted? Do you mean adjudicated?Juveniles are adjudicated, not convicted, unless tried as adults.

If all you mean is arrested, it definitely doesn't go on AMCAS, and neither do adjudications.

https://www.aamc.org/students/download/182162/data/amcas_instruction_manual.pdf

The instructions are pretty clear if you read them slowly and carefully.

Secondaries might be different.

Thanks for the reassurance, but I'm still freaking out over this. I suppose the only thing I can do for peace of mind (If you even want to call it that, not sure what might come up elsewhere) is go through the FBI channel mentioned and see for myself.

I am talking specifically for secondaries. It was clear to me after reading the instruction manual that this instance did not need to be declared on my primary. I was adjudicated (was not aware of the distinction between conviction and adjudicated, thank you).

At this point there's no need for a channeler. They already got what the FBI has on you and asked about what showed up. I also believe you have a right to see a copy of what they received to check for accuracy.

I'm currently in the process of filling out and turning in my secondaries. There has been no background check performed yet. (Other than the livescan I did to obtain employment as a lab tech at UCLA, would I be able to obtain a copy of the results from the livescan office, I wonder...)

My bad - thought you were OP. In your case, I would do the channeler route. You can have results in a week. I know from experience. Or the livescan route but that may be a hassle and/or a process.
