Urgent, should AAMC ID and letter ID be included within the content of the letter of recommendation?

hey i need an answer within like 2 hrs pls,

but basically for most of my letters of recommendation,they started with something like this


Letterhead/signature of the writer

Date

Dear Members of the Admissions Committee,

are they missing something? should the letter ID or AAMC ID also be included within the letter itself??

No, this is unnecessary. Letters sent using Interfolio require you to attach the letter ID/AAMC ID yourself, and the AMCAS letter service requires them to be inputted when your letter writer uploads them.

You are fine. It's nice to disclose in the letter in case they are separated from their file... back when we did file deliberations back in the 1900's.

We will keep this thread here for reference for other applicants, but please consider searching older threads for common questions or referencing the official AAMC materials before posting in the future.

You’ve been a member since Dec 2022. As you may have noticed during that time, other users usually cannot provide an answer within a few hours in the middle of the night, so it is not the best to rely on that.

I include this when I write for clarity these days, but it's certainly not ubiquitous or required.
