I thought I'd add on to this info. bulletin. This is a reply from one of the admin. ppl. It looks like they're still figuring out the curriculum. On a good note most of those who want to stay in the bay area can

" 1. The faculty are in the middle of re-designing the curriculum to a "Vertical Curriculum" format. As I understand it, our current system is a "Horizontal Curriculum", meaning that normal systems information is taught during the first year, and pathology of the systems (diseases, treatments, etc.) is taught during the second year. The new curriculum would incorporate both normal and pathology of each system at the same time, which theoretically allows more time for clinical experiences, independent study, and time to study for boards. It is not yet clear whether or not the new format will be implemented for the Class of 2010 or if it will be delayed to the Class of 2011. Once a decision is made, it will most likely be posted on the website. (I know, I know, the website currently stinks. We are, however, in the midst of a complete overhaul of the website which should be rolled out in the next couple of months).
2. Rotations are done on a lottery basis with each class deciding whether or not to provide exemptions for those who have children, spouses with jobs, etc. Generally speaking, there are enough spots in the Bay Area to accommodate almost all of those who wish to remain in the area, with the remainder going either to Southern California or through the States. I do not know the specific number or location of the core sites, but you may contact Ms. Sappho Faires (
[email protected]) to obtain that information."
Hopes this helps anyone interested
