Does someone know a way to figure out or diagnose what is the underlying problem with any urinary continence abnormality? Ex. Stress Incontinence, Overflow Incontinence, Detrusor Abnormalities, Sphincter abnormalities, Neuromuscular Abnormalities, Hydrocephalus Incontinence... ???

I'm having trouble understanding how to even answer a question on the entire concept of urinary incontinence.

Any help much appreciated :)

In regards to detrussor muscle vs spincter non closure, would it be reasonable to think of as a possible parasympathetic vs sympathetic issue? I believe detrussor are s2 to s4 parasympathetic innervation. Prostate Sphincter is sympathetic innervAtion?

Take a close at other accompanying symptoms ie are there a lack of sympathetic/parasympathetic innervation too. Ie if a male, inability to get an erection or ejaculate....

Also, see if the clinical vignette discusses if there was a previous injury too. Maybe that could hint a more likely cause for the urinary incontinence.

Just a thought, hope this helps in some way.
