I qualify for the Michigan Indian Tuition Waiver as I am a certified 1/4 blood quantum, lifetime member of the Sault Ste. Marie, MI Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
1. Does anyone know for certian if the MITW applies to Medical school or just under-grad degrees?
2.Should I not be counting on it given the fiscal politics currently in play in MI?
3.Would qualifying to the MITW be enough to also qualify me for URM status?
4. Can anyone explain the benefits of applying as URM especially if you are familiar with UMich admissions?
BTW: I am a 26 year old, married-father, entering my second year of Biomedical engineering-Purdue, IN with a 3.9 gpa. I am debating the value of no tuition+ a U Mich Degree vs relocating family.
Thanks for any input.
