US med grad and MCCEE?

iam a canadian graduating from a US med school and applying to carms.All the programs state they require MCCEE.DO we have to do that?What is our usmle 1 and 2 equivalent to, and do we have to release the scores on carms if we dont want to?

If you will have graduated from a US allopathic school by July 1, you don't need the MCCEE. Otherwise, you do.

I don't think you HAVE to release your USMLE scores.

hey giemsa, yeh iam graduating from a US allop school this yr.How about MCCQ1, do we have to write that at the end of 4th yr?
Whats ur status?Are u a canadian resident from an american uni and in what field?

Attending (pathology). Went to Canadian med school in the west, did residency in Eastern Canada.

Canadian med students sit the MCCQ1 in May of their final year (or thereabouts as I dimly recall). You don't HAVE to have it to apply for residency in Canada, but I image it would be an advantage to have already passed it. It will make you more appealing to the PDs, and you won't have to try to study for and pass it in the midst of your PGY1 (which is busy).
