Anyone that has done both, could you please state what is the dif, and which seemed harder. Thanks.

I have not done both, but have looking into both, so I may be able to answer your questions:

- The Canadian DAT is not computerized
- The Canadian DAT is offered only in November and February
- The Canadian and American DAT differ in the sciences section. The Canadian DAT does not include organic chemistry in the sciences section (only biology and inorganic chemistry are tested).
- The Canadian DAT does not have a quanitative reasoning/mathematics component
- The Canadian DAT includes a manual dexterity section in which you are given 30 minutes to carve a soap
- Canadian PAT and American PAT are exactly the same, except for the hole punching parts, I think on the Candian PAT only one hole is punched
- Canadian and American RC is the exact same (3 passages with 15-17 quetions per passage)
- The Canadian DAT is accepted by most American schools, and the American DAT is not accepted by any Canadian school

I would say, in my opinion, the American DAT seems a bit more difficult since doing a computerized exam takes strategic planning of its own, and you have to study organic chemistry and QR.

I’m surprised the US doesn’t have a manual dexterity carving section. This defiantly would weed out the individuals who are only book smart and have not much skill when it comes to manual dexterity. I know the PAT is supposed to demonstrate this, but lets face it a lot of practice and you can dominate this section.

That's untrue because with a lot of practise you can also dominate the carving section.

i agree anything can be done with practice. to me the canadian dat seems easier.personally i am really good at perceptual stuff and could carve well. i would not have the qr dragging my score down but i would not have had orgo to boost my score.

it is to my understanding that US DAT used to have the carving section as well. That was perhaps 20 to 30 years ago (I was told by an old dentist), back then the score was on a scale of 0 to 10, instead of 0 to 30 as it is today.
