i 'm accepted to USC 😍 i had my interview at USC on 1/21. i was so surprised to recieve the letter this afternoon cuz i thought it'd at least take a month before any decision is made by the school. so people who had their interview on 1/21 should go check your mail box and good luck to you all. 🙂

See you guys around @ USC! I just got the big envelop today, too. BREWHAHAHAHAAH.

Unless if U Maryland takes me and make me agonize over which school to get to.

But yea. Cheers. We can breath now.

congrats guys!!!!!! so it's a big envelope, not a small one? I'm nervous my interview at usc is on saturday!! I cant believe they got back to u guys so early.. my congrats again and all the luck to you!

There will be a couple weclome receptions (around may and june) that you guys will be invited to before orientation. You should invite your parents, its a nice night, you will be able to feel the USC love for the first time, and there is a lot of good info at the thing.

So there is that to look forward to.

As for now, enjoy the time you have off, because there wont be much more....... school here is fun, especially if you get involved.... it obviously requires you to put in the time for study because there's so much info, but there's a lot of fun as well.

Yes, it comes in a big envelope with a folder. Although at the interview they tell you everybody gets an envelope of the same size. Good luck on Saturday with your interview.

does anyone know how many people they accepted from the 1/21 interview?

They said 20 out of the 1/21 flight. so far we've 3 big envelops here.

I also heard 60 were taken during the november flight.

so about 100+ seats left if no one's lying? pretty sure some of those november flights would go to other schools, however.

 CONGRATS panadacoke, vsfan and eddavatar!!!

I hope to meet some of you guys next fall.

Don't forget to add your names to the Roll Call list.

I got my acceptance letter today!!! So totally unexpected. I called my loved ones and couldn't stop crying for 15 minutes! I can't wait til this Fall!! Congratulations to the rest of you who interviewed on January 21st and got in too!

Congrats everyone! Are all of you from Southern CA?

Yep, I'm from So Cal... Arcadia to be exact.

Yea, I'm from southern California. 👍

you guys are so lucky.. i wish i was in your place right now! Congrats again, everybody... I wonder how many people they are going to take from the 2/11 interview.. it's weird that they only took 20 from the 1/21?? yeah, doesn't that leave about 100 spots?

Congrats everyone, I too have my interview on Sat 2/11, very nervous. CAn some of you share your interview experiences?

I was a bit nervous going into the interview, but it definitely got easier as the interview went along. The professor and student who interviewed me were quite friendly and laid back. USC is definitely my #1 choice. I got into Loma Linda and have an interview with Western coming up but canceled both of those.

In my interview, the professor asked me questions focusing on my essay (the 300 word one). So, I'd suggest you to read your essay and then practice linking your life story to your answers in the interview.

congrats everyone! i got my big envelope from USC too!! they fibbed, they told us at the 1/21 interviews that everyone gets a small envelope so you gotta open it to find out =P.

I got my acceptance letter today, I'm so psyched!! 😍

interviewed on 1/21/06 and got my letter of acceptance today ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀

congrats to all the other accepted people!!!

this is my very very first post hehhehe :luck:

For people who have their interviews on 2/11: The key is to be confident. Give a firm handshake, always maintain eye-contact, smile, and sit up straight. That alone will do wonders. And of course, prepare. They ask very straightforward questions. I prepared using the interview feedback and I was ready to answer everything they asked me.

Good Luck! Don't be nervous because it's not bad at all.

DO YOU KNOW IF USC SENDS OUT REJECTION LETTERS DURING OR AFTER THE INTERVIEW SESSIONS ARE FINISHED?

Congratulations to everyone who got their acceptance letters! Doesn't it feel wonderful, like a two ton weight has lifted off your shoulders. Well, that's how I felt.

I can't wait to meet all of you in August. I have a feeling we're gonna have a wonderful class.

Enjoy your success!!

I dont know when they send out the rejection letters. I'm not sure if they put everyone on active consideration until all seats are taken, and then they send out rejections, or if they send them out along the way.

The director of admissions stated during the 1/21 interview that nobody has been sent a "rejection" letter yet.

I definitely don't think you necessarily got "rejected." I read on PharmCAS that notifications go out 4-6 weeks after the interview. I suppose the ones who have heard back this early on are the ones that got the "accept immediately." Perhaps the other applications are either reviewed further then accepted, waitlisted, or declined. Just because you haven't heard from them yet doesn't for sure mean you're not in though. There's still ~ 1 week left from the date that marks 4 weeks from the January 21st interviews :luck: .

for the 1/21 interview. 65 have been offered admission and 85 have been placed on the waitlist.

I am curious... how did you know that? Did you call and find out? I can't find it anywhere on the letters they've sent me.

i have been waitlisted, i received a letter today.

"of the 150 applicants interviewd, sixty-five (65) have been offered admission for classes beginning fall 2--6. Eighty give (85) applicants have been placed in the "active consideration" status. No one has been denied"

Interesting... During the interview they said only 20 would be accepted and all the response envelopes will be the same size. Not sure why they lied to us on both counts.

I'm thinking that out of the 60-65 people they accept, probably 20 would respond and reserve a spot. I'm sure once they send out other admission letters (most likely from the UC's) some will give up their spot.

Since you only get 2 weeks to respond with the $500 deposit, I think approximately 80-85% of the accepted applicants will submit their deposit. I believe the 2 UC schools are not sending out their acceptance letters until March, so I'm sure the accepted students don't want to take the risk of losing their seat at USC.

I wonder how many acceptances USC will offer. It seems that between the first 2 interviews they have accepted around 125 for ~180 seats.

That's what I meant to say- that they have a better chance of applicants sending in their deposits now before other schools send their admission letters out, and losing those students to those schools.

Hey all,

I had a question on the "Essential characteristics and abilities forms". In your acceptance packet it states that you need to initial/sign four pages of forms in your supplemental application and return it with your deposit. Has anyone done this? Is the Misdemeanor conviction disclosure statement the fourth page?

I believe the fourth page has a bunch of blank lines (continued from "VI. Evaluation" on previous page) then a place where you print your name then sign. I don't think the misdemeanor thing is a part of the "Essential Characteristics and Abilities Forms."

I found it. Thanks LittleMissB!

Care324,
I just got my waitlist letter in the mail today. I was wondering if you have been updating USC with your new fall grades, or followed up with additional letters to the school (ie. letter of intent). I really don't know what else to do to covince them I am able to handle their program. Congrats on your acceptance. It must feel so sweet!

Hi!

I'm a new member here and plan to apply for Fall 07 (from UCR). My GPA is only 3.2. Do I have a chance (I volunteer, do internship, and all that...). Thanks!

I totally say you do... especially if you have done your volunteer and internships for a long period of time and have a lot to say about your contributions to the organizations you're a part of. Try and get some experience working in a pharmacy. They asked me multiple questions about my experience at the interview. Your essays have a great bearing as well (e.g. personal statement and supplementary questions). You should at least get an interview. Once you have an interview, you've got your foot in the door. All you've got to do is nail it and you'll probably be one of the "accept immediately" people so long as you blow them away.
