From last year I know they invite 150 people and accept 32, I was getting ready for it but sadly my visa came 2 days after the interview... sniff

It doesn't matter, I am going this year 🙂
 
Can please somebody tell me how long is the list of instruments? I have not been able to open the attachment since I don't have office program on this computer... I'll have to wait until tomorrow and am kind of curious.... : )

i am little nervous about the practical . Is there any group or class i can practice in a week or something. I am very nervous about the practical part of the interview.Can you please tell me of you know?

If I am not mistaken... this is the first time USC is asking for a personal interview...

They used to have something like a group question kinda thing!

Fortunately Samyred posted the info for me.... I have some of the instruments but I don't know if they require that the list be bought from them...
1600 dollars is a lot of money... : (

Hi guys! I also got an interview invitation today but not from USC... I got it from UPenn! No instrument lists or tough fees, just a friendly lunch menu to pick a lunch for the interview day!

Got mine today. The instrument list is huge. West Coast schools are serious money drains. And about the date conflict, I believe neither of the schools are playing fair. I hate jumping into conclusions, but when I look at the bigger picture, well, I hope to get an admission from east coast schools that I have already been, and am going to be interviewed at.

I already have a typodont model , So do you think I should buy another one or else should I just buy teeth?I hope they will return the model to us, Iam not sure but anyone who knows can they please help.

Somebody told me that its good to buy Columbia typhodont becoz we would need it after admission into any dental skool. But I am not sure if its worth buying because never know if other skools would use it. Donow where destiny takes us.

You can get your own instruments. You dont have to buy them.

I think its ok to have the model you have and the model is returned to you. Hope this helps.

Just wanted to know how many students are called for the interview and how many get finally accpeted at USC? It is not mentioned on their website...

150 for interview, 32 accepted.
 
That's right, last year 150 were interviewed for 32 seats. I confirmed with my friends who are currently in IDP program. If you are well prepared your chances of getting in is good.... [email protected]
 
Thanks a lot for the information...How is everybody preparing for the practical??? I just got to know that they give you 3 cases to be done for 6 hours on the 1st day..What are usually the cases asked?

No idea... there is no info on the internet about it... somebody here mentioned that duggan institute in CA equilibrates for a fee... not sure about it, you will have to call...
other option would be to buy a new, equilibrated typodont just for the exam and after that you can sell it to someone that needs it for practice...
