USC Class of 2013

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hey all, just had my interview yesterday, which i think went well except for the the writing sample. i think i did bad 🙁. does anyone here know how heavily weighted the writing sample of the interview is when making a decision?

I wouldn't worry about it that much. I had a friend who is a P1 right now at USC and he didn't even finish the writing sample because he ran out of time.

was that the email for the last interview date? does that mean that it's over....?

Active consideration for me. Heres to more waiting!

oo man last interview invites go out by the end of this week if not then they will send out rejection letters right after :-( i havent heard anything since september :-(

I am so depressed about USC. I hope I get an interview, but I'm not counting on it after all this time...*sigh* I'd really like to stay in LA.

Anyone hear anything about the March interview date?

Sigh.... I am depressed. I just received that small white envelope from USC. I thought my interview went well. Probably, they think my GPA is low... Sigh... -_-''''

Damn it AC here too....😡 Oh well, I guess I'm not meant to be in Southern CA... 1 rejection and 1 waitlisted there.... Hopefully my Northern CA acceptance "luck" will extend toward UCSF!

Still nothing for me. I really thought there was going to be something today. Maybe they send the "continue-to-be-on-AC-letters" last Ugggggggggggh

after USC cashed ur deposit check, are they gonna send you an information kit of some sort? I have a lot of questions regarding housing financial aid and other stuff...
how do you apply for on campus housing?

Interview letters usually go out by email or snail mail?

I didn't get anything today either! By this point I can't help but anticipate getting that dreaded white envelope again.

Did USC send you a confirmation email about receiving the deposit or anything of that sort?

hello Everyone!!!

I will be attending USC in Fall 09! Just wanted to see how are you guys planning out housing and financial stuff!

Parth

Ugh I just got an email from Xin saying that I am still on the AC list. Only 4 people were taken off the AC list from the November interview.

Got that same email. I can't believe ONLY FOUR people were taken. 😡 The AC list just keeps getting fatter and fatter. Do November people even have a chance anymore?!?!?!

Yeah, got the same email. So bummed 👎

I still haven't heard anything from USC regarding my application status. No lack letter, not rejection, no update. I'm wondering if I should even fill out the supplemental financial aid forms they emailed to me. What does everyone else think I should do?

dont worry too much i am in the same situation as you. i have not heard anything from them since september when they sent me that email saying my application is complete. Just fill out the financial aid forms anyways since thats what i think everyone should do. I called the admissions office and they said they will send out interview invites for the last interview by the end of this week so i am keeping my fingers cross that we are in that group :xf:

So they wait until the end of the cycle to send out rejection letters or have some been sent out through the cycle? I'm kinda confused about what's going on with them.

Last year, I received mine at the end of March which was at the end of the cycle right after they interviewed everyone. They even sent me the financial aid info in the mail the week before I got rejected.

Ugh, that really sucks.

I wish pre-interview rejections were sent out along with interview invites for each session rather than all at once at the end.

Just for the sake of hope, we'll find out our fate by the end of this week.

Hi guys
I'm interested in applying to 2010 pharmD.
too late for this year 🙁

I have a question about transcript.
when my undergraduate school send my transcript to pharmCAS, do they send my transcript including the whole classes (whole year) I took? or just send only the classes which are included in pre-requisite (only which I want to sent)?

I'm worried about my old 'D' class which is not related with pre-requisite of usc pharm.

Good luck with all of u waiting now🙂

No, you can't do that. If things worked that way, my life would be so much better right now.

Lifeinla, your gpa is good especially for Western. What you really need to do is get some pharmacy volunteer experience under your belt because at an interview they will ask you, " why pharmacy", and if you have no story to relate to an experience at a hospital/clinic/etc, this does not look good. Plus they want well rounded applicants, and if you've never worked in a pharmacy, then how do you know what the job entails? What if you started volunteering and you realized that you hated pharmacy? Wouldn't you want to know this information before you started committing the next four years of your life, and around $200,000 in student loans? Not all schools require pharmacy related experience, but it certainly will help pad your resume, as well as offer topics of conversation during an interview. Also, submit your aplications as early as possible! If you are really that worried about gpa you could repeat the classes, but I think your time would be better spent volunteering in at least two pharmacy related settings. Also research the school and find out if they weigh more heavily on gpa or extracurriculars.

I'm thinking to apply to 2010 pharmacy school.
but I still have lots of classes to take.
even though I got MS from usc, I have take english, speech, and social/hum ....because I got BS from another country.
It will take about 3 semester...I guess...
Is it even possible for me to apply this july for 2010 admission?
I'm not sure I can start to try or not.

Well, you have this summer (1 semester) and next year (2 semesters)...so yeah it's definitely possible.

man, no one knows about what happens after they cashed ur deposit check?

I thought in the acceptance package they sent to us it said that we would have to wait a couple of months before we get more information about housing, classes, and etc.

your $500 will be deducted from your tuition the 1st semester. it'll show up on your financial aid statement when it gets closer to the fall semester '09.

Shouldn't some interview letters be sent out today since it's the end of the week?

yes. so we have to just wait and see!:xf:

Someone did say they may be "backed up", so the latest is early next week? Ok, let us try to be patient and wait...and we shall find out. :scared:

Hey I was wondering if anyone here got an interview/accepted to USC without a bachelors degree :/
and what are your stats?
I am thinking of applying next fall, but I will be a few quarters short of my bachelors degree...
and I mean I really don't want to wait until a whole other year to apply? But if worst comes to worst, and I really want my pharmD, then I will just reapply again when I have my bachelors

For those of you who'll live in Seaver, be wary of the rooms 400, 411, 412, and 413.. :meanie:

I just called them and they said that they'll be sending out the last interview invites and rejections by the end of today via email.

oh god this is nervewrecking... good luck everyone!
