So over the summer, I was debating on whether to do DH or dental school and I officially settled on DH.
The only school I'd really want to go to is USC, due to the fact that they offer a bachelor's in DH and CC's only offer associate's. The reason I want to go for my bachelor's is that I already have a bachelor's degree as I'm graduating from Cal Poly Pomona after this quarter with my degree in marketing management. Right now I'm just taking a couple classes for DH pre reqs this quarter and my last marketing course, but then in winter and spring I'll be taking my last couple of pre reqs that I need for DH at a CC.
I also want to get my bachelor's in DH because I don't want to be restricted to only working in an office forever. I'd like to be able to teach or do much more as I get older.
My question is what is the process for USC. The only information I have is the list of pre reqs, but I'm not even sure how inclusive that is or if any of my previous classes won't be accepted for whatever reason. I feel like I'm going into this blindly, where can I get further info? I've emailed the DH department but never got a reply. What can I do? My advisors at Cal Poly wouldn't have a clue because they focus on business. Should I talk to those in the pre dentistry club at my school or any science major department? I'm not sure who to reach out to for guidance.
If anyone on here can give me some guidance that would be appreciated also.
As far as I know I only need one more general chem class/lab, microbiology, and anatomy to apply to USC, but that sounds too simple so I'm a little scared(maybe I'm feeling this way because all my general education is done). Should I be getting hours shadowing a DH?
