Did anyone else receive an interview follow-up letter from USC? I didn't know schools did this...
I never got one... How long after the interview did you get it?
yea i got one. i think everyone that had an interview got one, its for them to see if youre still intereted after seeing how much it costs lol
how much does it cost?
And can someone tell me where USC is?
Yea, I figured everyone that interviewed got this letter. Do any other schools do this? Not that it really matters too much..just curious.
I had my interview 9/25 and received it yesterday as well. When I first saw it come in the mail I thought it was a rejection, lol.
I just got the letter now, and read it! Actually it is a good letter, and at least I know I have chances for acceptances. They ask to sign and retun the blue sheet to indicate that I am still interested in USC and I hold USC as high priority in my plans. I am not sure if other schools send the follow-up letter! I think USC knows that many students consider school as their back-up plan and they want to see if there are students who have received multiple interviews and they are not interested in USC anymore.
Has everyone who interviewd at USC recieved this letter?
I interviewed around 2-3 weeks ago and i haven't recieved one yet...now im gettin worried..
i had an interview there on the 21st and received the letter on the 24th.
It took me about 3 weeks to get it. They are supposed to be sending it to everyone so don't worry about it. maybe give them a call if you are that nervous about it.Hi, I interviewed there on the 21st too, but did not get the letter everybody is talking about. Do you live in LA itself?
Maybe you guys who got the letter are a few select who have been narrowed down. Makes me sad I did not get it 🙁
Did anyone receive the follow up letter bot NOT BLUE SHEET?
Just curious...
Shawny8351 what did the one sheet say? Did it have you send anything back or was it just a statement of facts? Thanks
it says,
'Dear Applicant, (my name)
This is a follow-up to your recent visit to the USC...Having successfully completed the interview phase of the application process you are now one of a select number of individuals, .... In assembling our class, a system of rolling acceptance cycles is used whereby offres of admission are extended to post-interview candidates.. continuously until the class is finalized... Although you may now or soon be considering offers from other programs, we hope you will continue to hold USC as a hight priority in your plans... We appreciate your interest in USCSD and we look forward to continuing to work with you...'
This is what is in my letter. nothing that mentions about 'Blue Sheet'
hmm 'Dentist707' told me to email the school. could have been the mistake from the admission.
Brian clearly stated that everyone will get a follow up letter within a week from their interview date. If you don't, call and see what's up. The purpose of the letter is to ensure you are still interested in attending USC so they do not have to waste their time giving out acceptances to people who will end up holding a spot at USC for months without mentioning they are no longer interested in attending. From his example, one student was notified a day before orientation to see is he/she could make it, because another student deposited a check for a seat but never contacted USC for a withdrawal. I personally do not think the time it took to receive your letter has any say in whether or not you receive an acceptance letter Dec. 1st.
The writing sample is a random question that you can answer without any knowledge of it. Given the fact you don't live in a bubble. It's purpose is to gauge your writing style and abilities.
Haha, I didn't even realize. Well, I hope it answers those who are applying now. =p
