Hey guys, for those of you going to usc this fall, where are u going to live? I'm aiming to be like 5 miles away from school just bc la traffic sucks.. it looks like rent is going to be around $1000 anywhere in the surrounding usc area, so i dont know..... i will probably live downtown, the medici looks extremely nice and about 4.5 miles away from school. if i had a roommate rent would be a less than 1000....

anyone wanna be my roommate? haha..

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone from up north are looking for housing around USC area? If you are, where are you thinking of moving to and when are you planning to move down?

If you're looking for roommates too, let me know! Maybe we can look together!

What about dorming at their residence halls?

i just called them today about that.. they are taking apps. you have to go on housing.usc.edu and look up seaver and fill out the app and mail it.

unfortunately they dont have any singles left :-(

maybe ill just apply anyway in case

it's pretty cheap, like 500ish - 700ish a month depending on the type of room

you can get an apartment within a 10 mile radius of the school for that much if you have a roommate. Its a trade off though.... closer to class vs. more space.

I called seaver residence hall like two days ago and they told me they only had 2 double-large rooms left(50% bigger than regular double room and only 50 dollars more)
Also, for those of you who are going to live on campus, are you going to bring your cars? i heard that parking was $360 a semester.. 🙁

How does everybody usually go about looking for roomies? Will SC send out a roomates listing or is it pretty much on your own? I don't plan on dorming on campus.

btw, is anybody planing on living in west la? i'm considering commuting as an option as well.

baller......

For those living at home, if classes start at 8am, how long does it take you to get to school? What time do u need to leave home to make it school, park and get to class on time? Just curious. If I somehow make it in from the waitlist, commuting will be my only option. YaY, living at home is always wonderful and fun (sarcastically .. hehe)

I've decided to just commute to campus from the westside cuz I'm so used to living here... the drive on the 10 east fwy shoudln't be so bad going to campus in the morning cuz it's opposite the usual direction of traffic... but then again, correct me if i'm wrong 😛

Can somebody post a sample schedule of when classes usually start and end through the week? It'll help me figure out the commute situation better 🙂

Also, if anybody's looking for apts/roomies around the same area, let me kno ~ i want to start the whole apt. hunting process sometime soon cuz june's approaching and good spaces should be opening up soon 🙂

For 1st semester, you'll usually have classes Mon-Thurs: 8am to noon. On Fridays, it's 8am-3pm. I always felt like we were being punished on Fridays =(

After like half the first semester is over, mornings start to open up a little as your friday class from 8-12 only goes the first half of the semester. And then other times there will be cancellations and other stuff, so later in the semester you might start class at 9 or 10 a couple times a week which is pretty nice.
